Frequent IRC Rank

Not sure if this has been suggested, but i couldn't see it on the first page, so i here go;

I believe the Frequent IRC Rank should be brought back, this rank not only shows new members that sythe.org has an IRC; but it gives publicity to use the IRC and gives members an incentive to get more active in the IRC

I'm not sure why the IRC rank has been taken away, but i think the rank should "controlled" by Verts/Shawn (i know they are not staff, but they can get Matt/Pen/Ryan/SMR to give the ranks out) and should actually have certain criteria (this should be up to Shawn, since he runs the IRC)

Let me know what you guys think....

I'd happily write up a list of those I feel are worthy of the rank if it were to be re-added.

The rank got a little out of hand last time and was given to people that don't even use the IRC. If people just use it until they get the rank then never come in again, the rank should be removed from them.

A nice frequent IRC user rank would really spruce up my profile.

 

Shawn mods the IRC lounge, Nathan.

It'd have to be monitored regularly to see who should be getting it and who shouldn't be. Anyway, I don't see anything wrong with the rank, bring it back etc.

It should be decided by real veterans like Shawn/Shin/Unknown/etc.

Sorry, but the likes of Verts (Join Date: 08-23-2007) hardly can be classified as a long time veteran.

 

She's an IRCop, I think she deserves it.

 

Well, clearly that's not related to time spent on the IRC as she hasn't been around for all that long compared to many others. Maybe it isn't directly related to IRC knowledge either as some people (like Cfrey) are more knowledgeable.

One can thus determine that her being an IRCop does not directly relate to her longetivity on the IRC or her abililty to do the job and therefore why should she be given even more power?

Uh, right...I've seen the Frequent IRC User rank..a lot...people talk about the IRC...a lot..but yeah I guess if they brought it back the newer people would know immediately about the IRC?

But, I don't even know how to get in the IRC lol.

Nullware, you bring up the same problem which got it removed to begin with. People would use the IRC for a few months, and get the "Frequent IRC User" rank, but people who used it for over a year wouldn't get it. :S
