Poll: The Paranormal?

Do you believe in spirits and/or ghosts? Why or why not? Do you have a specific explanation for them, such as types? Like, an actual spirit as in the person's soul (or maybe your own explanation) or maybe just a very emotional/important imprint on an area? Maybe you believe in multiple types of them.

I'm pretty curious as to what the beliefs of others are on this subject. The paranormal has become quite popular lately whereas it was pretty taboo before. There are even scientific ways to measure possible paranormal activity now such as EMF Detectors, etc...

I personally have a strong belief for the paranormal, having experienced some of it (doubters gunna' doubt). So, how do you feel about this subject? Any and all input and explanation is more than welcome.

 

I've seen some documentaries where they've tested for paranormal activity in highly reported places, coming up positive.

I don't know the legitimacy of these tests, however assuming they are legitimate, then I believe in some sort of paranormal activity after death.
If these tests however have explanations then I don't believe in paranormal activity.

I haven't seen these tests being used at random places using the same control and trying to enact EMF spikes, it could be pure luck.

I've had scary stuff happen to me before so yeah I kind of believe in the paranormal.

Well I've had quite a few experiences.

My grandmother used to live with us. She was ill and had motor neurone disease and it had spread and she couldn't speak or eat. So she used to be fed through a pipe in her stomach.Whenever she needed to go to the toilet she would call me by banging a wooden spoon on the side of her bed which was made by metal. So I use to go up and help her go to the toilet.

When she died couple of days later I started to hear somebody banging on the metal bed. And it really use to freak me out and my parents didn't believe me. One day we were all sat at home and my mum heard banging and told my dad. It was the same noise that my grandmother would make. We went upstairs and the noise stopped.

It happens a lot and I still get extremely freaked out.

 

From my experience I have to say I do. I mean at least there is something out there dont know what the bloody fuck this "thing" is but its out there..
When I was younger me and my best buddy ever, basically my brother without the blood well he always crashes at my place. We were pretty young thought now in our teens yet. We were just chilling around in the master bedroom area. We were about to crash and I remember just looking out into the hallway of my house. There was this white figure with a big black hat kinda like a cowboy style or like what Van Helsing would where along with a heavy leather jacket I would say with glowing red eyes and he was basically all white. He or w/e it was walked from the right to the left and pass my door. I remember just standing there frozen like "wtf!" for few seconds. Then I hear my friend say "Um dude you won't believe what I just saw." We both looked at each other and I asked "wait you saw something too" He then told me a similar description actually the exact things that I would recall. We just were shaken up and we both just decided to hide lol. We kept staring and then once again this figure this time walks from left to right in the hallway. This time i fuckin shitted myself and hid under the covers cursing and my friend pisses himself. We even hear the shuffling of boots going on since I had floors. I will never forget this day. Ever since then I believed in this stuff and had other encounters including EVPs and stuff like that.

As of today I still live in the same house and have experiences from time to time. Found out my house was build on a warzone in history but still I dont know how to explain what I saw. Noone believes us.

I am actually into this stuff so much I mean I watch everything, read about it all the time. I want to someday go "hunting" and see what else I can get
I am more excited and happy to ever see a ghost if I do get the chance again instead of being scared. Very interesting to see what is really going on.


I watch this one show "Ghost Adventures" I know its a TV show but it really seems alot more believable than other shows. Dont know if its truly legit as I would have to really be there to get the experience and proof but I have learned alot from Zach and the team and also can relate to him.

 

I've never had any experiences personally, but my extremely close friend actively experiences ghosts and some of the stories she tells me are quite convincing.. I'll never fully be confident in the existance of the paranormal until I experience it myself, but she gives me a lot of reason to believe.

 

I believe it, my sisters girlfriend got possessed by a demon of some sort and said she started screaming stuff, my sister got a cross and told the demon to go away and she said the demon yelled "Your cross can't do shit to me". She also said her girlfriend was telling my sister to leave (The demon/her girlfriend both talked). This was like at 3 A.M. in Germany (My sister is stationed their for the Army). My sister said she had told her that it had happened before when she was younger. She also told her that it felt like she had no air and couldn't breath.

Pretty trippy story, plus my sister would not make that up for any reason.

Reading about these stories and reflecting on my own personal experiences freaks me out...

 

I don't believe in this kind of stuff...most people who say that they are paranomal are attention whores the others have some kind of psychological disorder and should take some medication.

 

Im not 100% sure on which side to take really sometimes i believe all these paranormal things when i watch some movie or something like the forth kind which completely freaked me out for literally 2 months and still a little bit now. I have experienced some weird things,at my old house while having tea at the table my bowl started rotating in my hand and i just thought it was my brother next to me but when i looked up it wasnt him and it was still spinning slowly in my hand. I was completely freaked out and still dont have an explanation for it but it doesnt bother me any more.

 

One time, when I was little I went to sleep and after awhile somebody started pushing my room doors weakly. Somebody pushes them and doors go back, and all over again... White as a vampire I slowly crouched to my bed end to see what is going on and I noticed my turtle, he was trying to go through the doors, so he was pushing them quite a time...

I don't see reason why not to believe in ghosts. Some scientists explain that human can leave like a spiritual photo off his emotions in the place where he usually bin all over the years, after he dies, part his emotions leave and can be randomly show from time to time. Earth is like big voice recorder.

 

I could not say yes until i actually see something happen with my own two eyes, until then it will have to be a no from me, going to watch paranormal activity hopefully it is good.

Well, I'm glad to see so many people believe or at least acknowledge it's possible. It's still a pretty taboo topic where I live. I was simply curious. I had guessed the opposite would have been true for this board.

 

I believe that there must be something, but I'm not entirelty sure what. Something our senses can't comprehend, but we can record it digitally.

 

I believe so, we live in a world where anything is possible. Something happens after death, I support Ghost Whispers.
