Rant About Family. Opinions welcomed.

K. This sort of thing gets on my nerves. My dad is a nice guy and all. But he does stuff that's lazy. This comes in my shapes, sizes and forms. It can be the smallest thing. From stuff like: socks being inside out in laundry, to being can you do this, can you check that?

This is a rant about my father. I'm just typing it as it's my only way to relieve myself of this anger.

My dad is a nice guy. WHEN MY MOM'S HOME. When she leaves for work all week it's hell for me. sorta. It seems like he wants me to be doing what he wants all the time rather than what I want... If I'm doing something I love. He'll run around the house trying to find things that I should be doing, or chores that need to be done. It's annoying really.

Our family has a lot of animals, and that leads me to my second annoyance. I have a guinea pig, I take care of her. But the times I forget my dad checks her. And if she needs anything does he help her? No. He runs off to fetch me to do it. My dad rarely does anything that would help me. He comes over to me and says: "Art, check your guinea pigs water."
The part that annoys me about this is he CHECKS first to see if she needs anything. If she does, he gets me. If she doesn't he won't tell me.
I also own pigeons. Which regularly he askes me "have you checked your pigeons today?" I'll answer yes. But he always says "how lately?" these are just things that annoy me.

My dad's really one to try and impress mom by getting us to clean the house. Make it look good so when she comes home: " it'll look good so she doesn't have to come home to a shithole"

Another thing that sucks about being home with dad is we don't do anything for fun with him. I mean, last summer we didn't do anything... literally, no beach, no amusement park, none of that good stuff. We have to entertain ourselves. All I have is my computer, the TV, and my bike to entertain myself (I don't live in town, I live 50KM away from all towns)

This just annoys me.

This isn't all of it. This is just a portion. I know a lot of people are going to say: "Nobody gives a shit" or "You don't have it that hard". I know I don't have it hard. And actually I'm pretty dang lucky I suppose. But I just wanted to relieve myself. So Instead of making this topic about me.

Do your fathers or mothers do the same sort of thing as mine? Explain.

Drento , Your dad is kinda similiar to mine , but on a larger scale. My dad is a hardworking african guy , when my mums home. If not , well , im cleaning the house , rather than relaxing.

 

I Know how you feel.. Kinda. My sisters are so technically stupid they cant turn on a tv or put a DVD in so they call me to do it. And then my dad works for GE Comercial financing and if you believe it or not when they have trouble with their servers they actually ask me for help. Im 20 and im thinking of just leaving college and going to work for IT department for GE comercial financing.

 

My parents are divorced.

My Mum and Dad are perfectly fine Sounds like your Dad is pretty lazy but then hey, who's isn't.

If it really annoys you, explain to him how you feel, if that fails but up with it until you're 20 or whatever and leave home

 

Personally, just grow up. Alot of people have it so much worse. I'm not even going to go into my family life, but i guarantee you have it allot better than me.

 

you guys don't understand, when I said life was great I wasn't kidding, it is a good thing, because now I don't have to listen to them yelling. It is way better.

 

Yea i am 20 and i dont live with them. Thats the reason my dad calls me up. He works in danbury office. I live near there so yea. But its not him being lazy it is stupid GE being lazy.

 

lawl, my parents work most of the day, so i really dont see em until im done my hw and playing rs or watching tv; but the bad thing is, i have some daily chores to do, washing clothes if there are any to be washed, and vacuuming if there is anything to vacuum, so yeah...its a good life in the most part.
