The sprite looks like it has just been 'slapped' on.
'Building' the background around the sprite would make it better.

 

Well it was my first sprite. Any tips on how to do that?

You took a tuturial for this? At the very least there's a tuturial with the same sprite which looks very similiar to this.

Heres some C&C for you.

You have much potential, this tag is very well organized, and the composure is nice. Try to increase the focal on your focal point, and add some more "out there" effects, play around with filters, find something that looks nice.

I noticed you asked about building a background on your sprite.

I would personally add the sprite to the tag first, then I would mess around with patterns and filters to build around it, and erase around the sprite. If it looks good, keep it, if it looks bad, cut it out.

Lastly, try some different text, try and integrate it into your tag.

For your first sprite, its not that bad . And on a scale from 1/10, I would say 7/10.
