Boss Fight Guides [Quests]

Hey guys, I'm going to be adding guides to all the quest boss fights in the game.

Currently only Vanstrom Klause guide is written, more will be added later.


Vanstrom Klause

Gear:
Armour: High Defence Melee Gear
Weapon:Blisterwood Weapon (Stakes, Polearm, or Staff based on your strengths)
Note: If you use the staff, bring maging gear and switch between Ice Barrage/Blitz and Blood Barrage/Blitz
Other worn items: Drakan's Medallion (for quick access to grave on death)
Do not bring anything that is always lost on death.
Inventory: 10 Saradomin Brews (4), 4 Super Restore Potions (4), Vertida's bottle of holy water, Teleport to House tablet, Rest of inventory rocktails.
Familiar: Rocktails

The attacks and methods to combat them:


Standard attacks: He uses Magic and Melee attacks.
Use Protect from Magic to protect from most damage (if you're meleeing, use high defence armour)

Blood bombs: Vanstrom will frequently place blood pools on various floor tiles, which do heavy damage if you are near them when they explode.
When he flies, start to run from corner to corner, click multiple times as your movement destination will often disappear, causing you to stand still long enough to be hit. Try keep an eye on him, when he lands again you can attack again.

Blood Trap: He will teleport you into the center of the room and a pool of blood will be under you, which will damage you if you are within two spaces of it when it disappears.
Simply run away when you are teleported.

Freeze: Occasionally during blood attacks, Vanstrom will freeze you on the spot for a few seconds.
Keep clicking as fast as possible, if you end up getting damaged, eat while running, running being the priority. Even if it takes a few tries it's better than lagging behind and taking even more damage.


Darkness: Vanstrom will charge up in the middle of the room and unleash a powerful attack.
Run to one of the corners if you are not already at one, and as soon as you see him walking towards the center, and angle your camera so he is not on your screen.

Summon bloodvelds: Vanstrom will summon two bloodvelds to heal him.
Kill them as fast as possible, don't attack Vanstrom while these are out, as soon as you see him start the animation summoning them, start running to one edge of the room to kill the first, then run across to the other and kill it before it reaches him. You probably won't get both in time unless you are ranging or maging, but don't worry too much about that as they don't heal too much in that time.

Deadly Cloud: When he is at low health, he will turn into a deadly cloud which you can't attack.
Throw your holy water and lure him into the spot with the water, ALWAYS keeping an eye on your health, only bother with brews at this stage, don't worry about super restores as you won't be doing your fighting past this point, the holy water will be doing the damage. Also keep an eye on the pool of water, and as soon as it starts to fade throw more.
