Framing V2

Hey guys, thanks for taking the time to read this.
I originally posted this thread, which was locked. Sorry if I made it seem like an 'unban Arcaida thread', but my purpose in making the thread was just to share how easy it is to get framed for 'hacking,interest in hacking, phishing, etc'.
While I do think that most members who have been banned for interest in hacking etc, are responsible for it, the system can easily be exploited. With that being said, I think bans of this sort should be dismissed.

The IP's can be easily checked and if they don't match up then the person will probably be unbanned.

 

How can the account's IP, from Hackforums for example, be obtained?

 

A mod would pm a mod on hackforum asking if person "x" has this ip (after explaining this person is a high profiled person on sythe and could be frammed etc).

 

They don't share IPs with third parties.

 

They would be able to confirm if the person is the same on both websites? Wouldn't they?

As John said, I doubt they'd give out/confirm IP addresses, regardless of the reason, but I guess it could be tried. Secondly, if this was successfully implemented, then all members' IPs should be checked, not just 'high profiled' members. I mean, this would be a ton of work for the mods, but either no one's IP is checked, or everyone's.

It's still horrible we ban people for it, and it'll be horrible if we don't ban..

I know it's easy to do that, like.. create an account on hackforums, and say "add my msn [email protected]"
Then I would get banned, but I didn't post it. I understand, but what if it was me? There is no proof, unless you ADD the person and speak with them about it.

(No I don't use hackforums, just an example fools)

 

This is pretty much what I was saying...? There's no proof in just posting the MSN.....adding the person and speaking with them about it is a totally scenario. That completely justifies the ban, but getting banned for having your MSN posted on a thread about Phishing really doesn't.

 

When has this ever happened? Your only example from the last thread you made (Arcaida) was disproved. I think you need to stop assuming that we don't do our research before administering a ban. Much more than just their MSN posted on one of these sites is required for a ban. This isn't even a suggestion, moreso a baseless jab.

 

I'm not saying you guys don't do your research before issuing a ban, but rather bringing attention to the fact that the system for issuing a ban, in regards to interest in hacking, can be easily manipulated.

It wouldn't be sharing an IP. It would be a simple 'yes' or 'no'. No rules/terms would be broken.

HF staff, from what I've heard, have worked with Sythe staff in the past on similar situations.

 

You want us to let more hackers into Sythe? :huh:

 

Members aren't banned for a simple matching msn. There must be more than one link - from my knowledge - such as the ip. Also hackforums staff has let sythe staff know if ips have matched multiple times. How do you think Firez got half his bans?
