    Punkerpunk13 Onto A New Journey..

Complete Price Agreed Upon Before Hand

Will just go ahead and get to the point..

I suggest that when negotiating deals, fees/exact amounts have to be agreed upon before sending. Meaning, say I sell a chinese person gold via PayPal. I sell a mil for 100 for $100 (example). They don't have gift/payment owed. I lose like $4-5 because of that. Only reason I sold is because it was best price, but since they didn't take fees, it's not a good price.

Point is, I suggest making it when your trading things that have fees (basically everything), fees are agreed upon BEFORE the payment's sent.

People are constantly being stiffed on fees. I see it truly every day, and since there's alot of people that aren't knowledge about fees (first time sellers/buyers), their getting completely screwed. It's happened to me numerous times. I've even sold gold before, they said they'll take fee, and I still even get stiffed. It's truly ridiculous.

Just make sure to inform your buyers that you do not cover Paypal sending fees.

Just add a note in your gold sales thread, and if someone won't notice it, it will be their problem.

I always notify my buyers that they will pay any PP fees beforehand. But problems like these have happened to me.

We're not going to regulate the market to this much of a fine detail....

I agree with you wholly Punker, without discussing fees first, the deal becomes a scam. People expect to receive exactly what they're trading for.

Just a question, how is this exactly a suggestion?
I think this would belong in the market lounge.

OT: I fully agree and it's very annoying when it happens.

This isn't something the site is able to control. Agreements generally take place over msn, not on site, so it's not something we could really possibly regulate even if we wanted to.

Wouldn't it be as easy as posting a sticky in the market exchanges about it and if it comes up, treat it as a scam report?

If it is something considerable like a 20% WU fee I would have filed a report anyways.

Though I am affraid that a lot of 'bitchy' type people will be filing reports for the 3-4 cents it costs to send a PayPal gift.

Although I think it should be worked out in MSN, I think the default assumption should be that fees are covered by whoever would normally take them in that method.

PP and LR have fees that are applied to the individual receiving, whereas WU and moneypak require people pay them ahead. I don't think it's too hard to mention it in a conversation if you want something different than that.

Although I do agree with you Punker that awareness about PP fees should probably be raised. Even though PP makes it pretty clear there are fees for sellers, a lot of people tend to miss it.

If you have an agreement regarding fees and the other party doesn't follow it, then a scam report is appropriate. If you don't make it clear to your buyers that they need to pay the fees though, then you're equally at fault. If someone is supposed to pay paypal fees and doesn't, and you don't want to give them the GP for the amount of money you received, then you should just refund the payment. I don't see why it has to be a site issue, there's no reason we should be infracting / banning people for that

I don't see how this affects someone trusted in anyway at all. Reason being is that if the buyer makes you pay for fee's you simply turn it around and give him less gold when he buys of you.

Example: your selling gold for 0.6m buyer buys 100m of you.

You tell your buyer before anything is exchanged he will handle fee's, he agrees. He sends you $60 but you lose $4 dollers in fees. You explicitly told your buyer he is paying fee's before hand so instead of giving him 100m you give him 93.333m instead since $56 = 93.33m @ 0.6m (the price agreed on).

If your buying gold you know what is happening before hand with the fee's so its not a problem for you either in that sense.

It only becomes a problem when you don't go first and should be treated as a scam already if thats not the case already. Since your not fulfilling the conditions of your trade (which is scamming).

Edit: Post above sum's up exactly how i feel about this issue too. Its not a site problem and can be easily handled between you and your buyer.

you know the consequences of accepting such payment methods, this is not something I see sythe.org being able to control. you should just give them what they pay for... just make them aware they're paying fees.

EDIT: Why doesnt anyone just do the logical thing and implement fees into your price.. you guys already do it on PA.

Yeah, I agree with you but I don't see how this could become a rule. Maybe write a thread and have someone sticky it? That sounds like a better option IMO.
