sounds good, some highly respected people get banned once in a while, but i hardly ever know why.

I dont think this should go for leechers though, since no one gives a shit about them.

Good idea! I always wonder what happened to so and so when they always spammed, etc. (IE: me likes pie). But like, the permissions on it should be only staff post, etc. because it would be a spam house for people to just debate "XXXX" is innocent.

I think members kind of deserve their own privacy. If they are banned everyone does not need to know why. Now if they are going to be open about it by posting it in dispute forum or telling you on msn then fine but it just makes the process longer.

I agree, as long as the person can find out why they got banned somehow its ok. :/

^ It is kind of your job (as a mod.) to put effort into helping the forum, is it not?

They have not deserved their privacy on a PUBLIC forum if they have been banned. People deserve the right to know the "crime" they committed. What if a man was sent to jail and you did not find out what he did? You might think it is unjust. Just like this, we deserve the right to know the reason for which a person is banned.

Also, if a banned member wants to trade with someone and they are banned, they are automatically un-trusted. But what if they were banned for maybe just over spamming, or trash talking? That is severely different than scamming and they dont deserve they dis-trust.

Finally, as moderators you have to accept the responsibility of certain tasks. Simply making a constantly updated thread of scammers and the reasons is not hard. Yes, some tasks are tiring and hard to do, but you accepted that responsibility when you became a mod.

Do you know every crime and who did it in your local area? How many censors do you see on t.v. with criminals? If they get banned they can leave. There is no need to make it public for everyone to see.

Well usually I do not see Banned members going around posting on sythe. If someone is banned they should watch out for them no matter what. People that got banned for flaming or spamming, they can come back in 2 weeks and trade etc.

We do our bet to get rid of scammers. We infract all over the place and what not. As we are spending our time trying to clean up the forums and making it a better community for everyone you want us to make another thread of why someone got banned for your pleasure?

First, I never said there was a NEED for it to be made public. I said that we have the RIGHT to know. Also, people do not need to post on sythe to make an offer. They can just view the post when logged off and get the msn and talk. And then if they are asked to pm or post, they are banned. Or maybe, just maybe, instead of just having BANNED under their name, have in parentheses (Spamming) or (Trading) for the reason. Doesn't take long, and could be easy to do.

I like the idea and if its that much more difficult to write a reason then just hire someone to ban people and thats their position on the forum

I never said they were sub-human. But they have digressed to below what a good user is. This is not a privacy issue, what is so private about whether or not we know why they are banned. How is that privacy? Privacy is if someone is in their home, their work, or something in that spectrum. But this is a PUBLIC FREE FORUM where being banned is a matter of committing a "Crime" and if we do not know what that crime is, we would just consider them bad all together. Maybe you should think of it less as their privacy but more for our safety.

And as i suggested, maybe instead of just BANNED have maybe BANNED (SPAMMING) or BANNED (TRADING) so we know, but we don't know the details but know the general crime.

We're not making ban reasons public. They are no one's business other than the person who got banned.

If someone is banned for scamming and the ban reason is "Scamming", what else is there to say? We don't take banning people lightly and only do it if necessary. Chances are if they are banned there is a definite reason.
