Dorianking's request for pardon for crime commited many years ago

    Hello everyone,

As many of you may see, my OMM application was recently rejected. When I was rejected, back in March 2011; the issue Nick gave me was I was not active enough. When I re-applied, I decided I will start to try to be more active and hopefully I can be successful the next time; this was clearly not the case.

This time; I asked Finn the situation on my rejection this time. He quotes:
[17:37] <Finn> The primary concern is not about the quality of your applications
[17:37] <Finn> But rather your conduct elsewhere, specifically on Hackforums

I was astounded nobody or Nick had told me this when I first applied that this ghost has been following me. Finn, told me that I should address this issue before re-applying for OMM, which to be honest, I had no intention of doing before being aware of this situation.

We now move onto this situation that I would like to be addressed. Many years ago, back in 2009 specifically, "PIN lines" were used to obtain PINs could be bought or obtained in order to re-sell PINs. At the time, seeing this as a good opportunity to sell PINs as they were in high demand; I sought another website (specifically Hack Forums) in order to purchase the PIN lines. With this, I was banned when Sin666 discovered it as PIN lines were not allowed on Sythe. In the rules at the time, there were no rules against buying PIN lines at another website. This lead to a great debate on whether purchasing something on another website was considering rule breaking despite being allowed on a different website.

This was my original post that I requested today that the mods at HackForums to delete as I do not want it haunting me anymore; but I have screenshot-ed it here for you all to see the evidence that I am presenting.

There was much controversy and considering that I was a known member at the time; the administration of Sythe (Pen) decided to cut me some slack and unbanned me. There was also an issue about me talking trash about hacking other people which was not true at all and I admitted that it was a fabricated lie back in my appeal 1.5 years ago which was supposedly pardoned for as well which I clearly see now that it was not. I would like to state that Sin666 came online soon after my unbanning and talked to me on MSN and try to get me to say something that she could use against me.

Sin666, I really have no idea what conflict that we had but I am really sorry for everything and I really hope that these last 1.5 years have shown that I genuinely am not a person of malicious intent/behavior and was just looking for a way to make money just like everyone else. If there is anything that I could do to make you show that I am a good person, please go ahead and state it.

Addressing this issue of HackForums, I truly have remorse for what I have done I have no longer posted there or anywhere else after this incident and I abide by the rules of Sythe everywhere else.

All in all, I request that I be pardoned for this crime like I was many years ago and not let this ghost follow me here into the present. I am truly sorry to the staff I hurt (specifically Sin666) and/or the people I may have traded. I hope this addresses everything and if there is anything that is sketchy about me that needs to be known; please go ahead and state it and I will reply as soon as I can.

Thank you so much for reading this and I hope to hear from all the staff soon. I would also like to thank Finn in specific for letting me know about this situation and I do hope everything goes well for you in your time of trouble(s).

Your pardon was essentially accepted whey they decided to unban you. You can't serve a second ban for the same offense, and your post does not admit to anything that was not known at the time of your ban.

However, a pardon doesn't wipe the slate clean, and when you're applying for a position like OMM, we will consider everything. Your new trades were not as strong as we would have liked, there were other incidents that contributed to our decision, etc. I will not elaborate on the specifics, as the staff's reasons for voting the way they do are private. However, another pardon for this issue would be meaningless.

I urged him to create a pardon seeking information as to how me might improve, rather than as a means to achieving a secondary pardon - he stated that he was going to be creating a further middlemanning application and asked how he might improve, so I stressed that there weren't necessarily important problems with his application itself that needed rectifying and that if staff wished to embellish on how they may consider his application capable of improvement they might do so here.

For me personally, I had been made aware of the various activities that had been occurring over at HF which cast doubt over your legitimacy for me personally. However, I also acknowledge that this is not the first application you have submitted and wouldn't necessarily like you to create a further application and waste your time unnecessarily if there is no hope of you succeeding; rather, you should have a means of redeeming yourself in the eyes of the staff that might have not supported you, and, in my opinion, they should comment on how you might do so - or, of course, that your past actions cannot be redeemed.

For me personally, I welcome both your calm and sensible response to yet a further rejection of your middleman application. As an Official Middleman myself, I understand that applications take a great deal of time and patience to complete, and for you to be rejected many times over and yet retain a calm and polite demeanour is, in my opinion, indicative of good character.

I expect I will be watching out in the market sections in order to gauge the extent of your contributions. You have been here for a long time and I do not forget that you have been trying to gain a shot at OMM for a considerable period.

I do not trust Dorian because I know he lied about deleting his posts, and he lied when he said he had only tried to buy one pin line and never actually succeeded. I provided proof on both of these issues to Pen.

Given the aforementioned examples of dishonesty, I also don't believe his denial of hacking by saying "I didn't actually do it, I just wanted to sound cool!" It was the only excuse he could make to get out of a ban given the evidence provided, and I think he was very lucky to have Pen grant his dispute.

That said, I cannot say that I would never vote yes on his application. He does have something to prove though, and for that I'd have to see a stronger application. It is up to Dorian to decide whether he thinks he can prove to the staff that he deserves a chance in spite of the doubts that I (and other staff members) currently have.
