I feel sorry for the poor guy, the government essentially took his job, took his health, and he was left with no other options in his eyes than to quite simply put become a felon and live a better life.

 

And this is exactly why I disagree that America is the "greatest country in the world" being more concerned about spending money on illegal and pointless wars then taking care of their own people. It's a disgrace that in this day in age people are forced to commit a crime just to recieve medical care.

In Thomas More's Utopia (15th century), life wouldn't be like this. We would ALL recieve equal benefits regardless of wealth. It's really sad if you don't have the money you are basically either forced to 1) Do illegal activities. 2) Suffer until you die.

I've always told myself, if I find myself without a income, no job, no home, no anything.

Sad but true. A few years back a homeless man stabbed a bystander 16 times because he was starving to death.

Sweden does, but our taxes are about 30% of our salary.

We got free school (including food), free healthcare and so on..

 

This is why i'm scared of bums in Canada. Since there's no death penalty, whats stopping one from murdering someone just to get life in jail where they have shelter and food?
