I would be putting that thing in a fireproof safe, and then inside another fireproof safe! Imagine if someone got ahold of it (a baby or kid) and broke it..

    Or maybe $17,501 ;)

And really what is the game about? The wikipedia you provided only said "1990 Nintendo-promoted video game competition". Was it the game they played at the competition?

    HAHA that made my day!

On the subject of the game... I never quite understood collectors.
I mean, why pay for something JUST to say you have it? It's like paying £25,000 on bragging rights...

Yes, it is the actual game they played at the competition in 1990.

Also, this isn't the "true holy grail" of gaming. There was another Nintendo-promoted game competition called PowerFest '94 AKA Nintendo World Championship 2. Except with this one, they didn't give out any of the cartiges as prizes. They printed 33 copies of the game and then sent all carts back to Nintendo to be disassembled for parts, or so they thought. Many years later A guy bought the only remaining copy of said game at a garage sale held by an ex-nintendo employee.

"Out of the 33 cartridges only one is left in existence today. The rest were given back to Nintendo where they were reused for parts. The remaining cartridge was put up for auction on myebid with a buy it now price of $300,000."

It's like buying an old car or buying a baseball card. It's an investment. Not many people have them and when some of them disappear the price will go up!

Smart move for making an investment or dumb move for spending that much money on a game? Hmm...
