[Food] Whataburger - Avocado Bacon Burger (sponsored by JohnnyQ's Sausage Sales)

I didn't want to review this sandwich because I thought "wtf lol $6 for a sandwich with only one patty?" Here we are, though. Thanks to JG for sponsoring this . Buy your sausage from John HERE.

Price Paid: $6.21 after tax + $0.54 for grilled jalapenos.





First thing I notice... there's a lot of avocado, and even a decent amount of grilled onions and jalapenos under the bacon (usually there's more).

I don't know where to start. Whataburger's meat is heaven on earth. This one was cooked on the rarer side, which some people like. I didn't really find a taste difference but this burger was way greasier than my double pattied burgers usually are.

First bite was that bottom left corner with the mushed avocado and no jalapenos. I wanted to taste the avocado and how it worked with a little bit of sauce. The mushed avocado parts were amazing. Way better than McDonald's guacamole could dream of being. I'm not a fan of whole avocado... for some reason it just doesn't have flavor to me. Avocado lovers would love this... it worked so well with the burger.

Bacon was crisp and flavorful. Cooked to near-perfection. Whataburger's grilled onions and jalapenos (especially the jalapenos!) are the best thing you could ask for. I get the jalapenos added almost every time. It is so worth it. The cheese was good as it usually is. Better than the white cheddar which could be found on the similar Patty Melt.

Finally, there's the bun. Tasted much better than the McDonald's toast, but that goes without saying. The creamy pepper sauce was so good that I think I might have to experiment with that sauce on other burgers. This sauce is almost as good as their Chophouse sauce.

High 5/5 Seal of approval. Nothing bad to say about this at all.

Texas bias. Would get it again. Is an off-menu purchase now, so it might be bye forever soon.

Also $6.70 for a burger is pretty outrages lol, it still got a high 5/5 with that pricetag?

I could get a entire meal from mcdonalds for that lol.

But the problem is, then you'd be eating McDonalds. Their signature burgers are worse than any Whataburger burger.. and they are comparable in price. I'll admit their signature burgers do have potential, though.

Also yes, Whataburger doesn't loose points for price because it is that good. Feels like yesterday their top burgers like this one was $5 ;(

 

It'd be nice if u would find coupons and share them in the reviews.

Most coupons can be found online via a simple google search.

Trust me, I use coupons whenever I can but Whataburger has next to none. They have a rewards program and the first coupon I ever received came last month. It was for horrible breakfast biscuits.

I do link them in Jack in the Box / Carl's Jr. reviews. McDonald's has the app with great deals I could mention that.

 

@Bus369 You can't compare Whataburger quality to McDonalds. They're unmatched.
