Should i buy a PS3 or XBOX?

Alright so just some background info:

I have had a PS2 and Loved every second of it, then i got the XBOX 360... that was about three years ago. now, i have a problem, i am going off to college next year and i want to buy a new one, i just got a bunch of graduation money mixed in with my own money and some game returns i hope to convince the parents that it is okay. we will see.

but if they say yes i want to know which system to get?

I love HALO but after Reach it is over, so i figure i just rent it and play on my XBOX when i am home... but i really loved Killzone 2... when i played i was so pumped...

plus there are medal gear solid, god of war, uncharted, and much more... so basically PS3 exclusives are beast.

but should i buy a new system and get all new games...
(MLB the show, god of war, Killzone 2, MW2, uncharted, and Madden for starters..)

or just get another XBOX? i am struggling with this, guys from multiple perspectives please help me out...

I love the fact that PS3 live is FREE, and the new premium accounts sound great, plus there is NO need for a wireless router...

help me out!

It would be my guilty pleasure to suggest you purchase an xbox, however my opinion is completely biased like most so its up to you to do the research.

Xbox 360's are generally better. You can do loads of mods, which are fun, plus it has many exclusive games (Halo series, GoW series, etc, etc).

PS3 Controllers are tiny, and they're really uncomfortable if you have average size hands, whereas, on the Xbox, they fit snuggly into your hand

Overall, I would suggest buying an Xbox, because they're cheaper, and you may have to pay for PSN too, in the near future

Honestly, just get what your friends own so you can play with them. I have an xbox and I just make trial accounts so I get free 1 month live. Cheaper.

Depends if you have any friends, I have PS3 because thats where all my mates play and its great, after a year or so buying the stuff for the xbox (1 month subscription and wireless adapter) its the same price as a ps3 and well, ps3 is alot better.

I garauntee you i have bigger hands than you, i am 20 years old and have never met anyone with bigger hands than me. I have a ps3 and have no problems with the controllers.

Personally, PS3 is the obvious choice. Don't listen to people saying 'PS3 online is shit', because thats garbage, i love PS3 online, and i have many friends with xbox's and have seen them play live. My friend knows all the technical details, he can specifically explain why PS3 online is better, they use some system that uses less lag, i don't understand it all but he does.

Man i won't even begin to argue, because PS3 is better on so many levels. PS3 has SOOO many free features, its crazy. Vidzone is great for parties (and its free on PS3), vidzone is where you can view music video's for free, make playlists etc for free.

There are quite a lot of PS3 users on sythe. MegaMatt is one of them, i personally have him added on my PS3, saw him playing Modnation Racers the other day, was going to PM him to let him know i'll probably get it in a couple weeks and will have to go online with him some time.

You can use any headset with ps3, you don't need all this xbox specific shit. Thats another thing with the ps3, its so universal, basically anything can work with it.

Trust me, you will regret not getting a PS3. You already have an xbox anyway.

 

PS3 u dont have to pay for internet every month, just connect to ur wireless and ur fine plus MW2 on PS3 is EPIC

 

I've owned both systems and personally prefer the PS3. Most of the opinions here are biased as hell. Both consoles have their pros and cons, I personally think the PS3's exclusive games and the free online make it much better than the 360.

PS3's controllers are the biggest turn-off for me, i have to admit. Never have i owned one, but the button layout seems overly complicated and unnecessary, and i think xbox nailed it in that aspect.

If you grew up on playstation controllers then you've inevitably grown used to them- so i can see where long time followers hold their allegiance to the system. All in all it comes down to what you've stuck with longest, however i guess this is not always the case because when Wii was released it ultimately broke the bond of most nintendo fan-boys.. stupid, stupid console is stupid.
