    addicted to junk food

i'm 26 years old and live in los angeles.
    i'm 6'3 220 lbs

i've grown accustomed to waking up everyday around 11am.
    checking my email, social media.
    taking a shower
go buy fastfood and on the way home stop by a gas station for an energy drink

i've been doing it every single day for about two years.
i'm not fat, but i'm definitely not in great shape.

i dont even enjoy the food anymore. it's just become an addiction as time has went on.
if i dont have the energy drink i feel fatigued whether i sleep 6 or 10 hours, it doesnt matter.

any idea on how i could change this? i obviously have no self control, lol. but I know I wont live long if i continue doing this everyday.

    Hi man,

I have a few clients who are in similar situations to yours and how I get them started is just trying to find an alternative at first so for example if you’re going to get fast food make it s healthy choice like a subway, then have it over a period of a day, energy get yourself a shake.

You have to start small then begin to build up, if you jump in deep your mind will crave too much and you’ll end up in a worse of place.

Try get yourself some water during the day and try get off the caffeine drinks as this is just make you feel drained in the mornings, and try setting your alarm for 6Am man, get yourself a brisk walk and just try new things this will help you mentally and physically.

    addicted to junk food

I’m on a serious cut right now with a strict diet and no cheat snacks/meals. In the past, I’ve always struggled in achieving my goal physique due to pigging out at night. This time around, I deleted all the apps I had to order food/snacks and simply didn’t buy any junk food around at the house. This has helped a lot as it’s harder for me to have access to them

This is a really good idea but that takes some serious will power, finding alternatives to start then progressing slowly will help you guys a lot, I’m from the UK and I find subway to be a great alternative than McDonald’s, it’s healthy and tasty. I’m a qualified personal trainer so I try to make my clients life easy without being strict.

I used to be in a similar situation - particularly when I was in college.

Since 2019 (it was not my new years resolution, I just realized I needed a change) I learned to cook. For something so big at the time, it was a very simple step. I do my grocery shopping instead of going through the drive-thru.

I was highly addicted to soda as well, I would always make an excuse to get a 44oz fountain drink, and I'd even drink 5-6 cans a day. It wasn't just soda tho; I drank really sugary coffee. It was very hard to cut, and I would substitute it for a while with diet, and drink water. Eventually I was able to quit it all together. For energy drinks - try "Bang" or "Reign", they are an alternative to sugar-y energy drinks and provide caffeine instead (substitute one addiction with the other :D)

    Improvements in my life include:
General happiness - happy with my body, gives me things to do and look forward to.
Weight loss - cutting sugar will improve your weight (Drinking your calories blows)
    Better teeth enamel

There are 3 addictions I thought I could never quit - Weed, Soda, and Internet. So far I've kicked 2.

Good luck man you can do it.

Its all in the mind I feel. You have to want something, 100%. If you dont want it 100% then you wont get it. Yeah you might get cravings if you stop fastfood but thats part of it, just push through them. Eat clean, drinks lots of water. See your doctor if youre experiencing any side effects from a sudden change of diet. But I believe you should just go cold turkey, see how it goes. The mind is a powerful thing.

Energy drinks make your body start depending on them, same with fast food they are both very addictive high in sugars, sodium, fat etc...

Once you cut that out and start eating a little healthier you will see how much better your body feels.

    - I know how it feels being from the LA area, everything just such a rush.

Try something another) For example recentyl I tried red caviar https://globalseafoods.com/collections/red-caviar and it was amazing! For those who haven't eaten caviar, including you may think that it must taste something like fish eggs, which it doesn’t. Though they are fish eggs, they don't taste fishy. If you find the taste of caviar to be overly salty or fishy, you might be eating the low-quality one.

You can change few things but not everything at the same time. First off your sleeping schedule, if you can sleep before midnight and try to maintain around 8 hours of sleep it’s optimal. If you sleep too much you will feel tired. You can also replace energy drinks with black coffee/green tea. On top of that I would also suggest to stop eating junk food and start buying groceries. I usually do my meals in bulk (12+ meals) and put them in the freezer. That way it will be better for your health and also for your wallet. You will also save time because whenever you are hungry you just put the meal ito the microwave and it’s done. Good luck!

Pick up cooking and use simple recipes if you are lazy. Try high protein and fiber foods since those will be the most satiating.

Ok so first things first. You're tall, considering you're 6 foot 3. In that case, you can get away with a few pounds here and there - something that many people do not have the luxury of. Second, you have to decide what you really want in your life. Do you want to continue eating because it tastes good? But what about your appearance? Are you happy with it? It really comes down to what you want out of it and you're the only one who can answer that question.
