    Yu-Gi-Oh! booster boxes

So I wanna buy a yugioh booster box, for the purpose of collecting. I plan to buy either:
~Legend of blue eyes white dragon (unlimited OR 1st Ed.)
    ~Metal Raiders (1st Ed.)
    ~Magic Ruler (1st Ed.)

Now I researched some prices and here's what I got: Magic ruler is 64$ for the box, which I figure means it's not worth jack. Metal Raiders is about 100$ but the cards themselves are shit, and I will open them up about 30 years later anyway so may as well get good cards. And Blue Eyes boxes are ridiculously expensive at 100-150$ for unlimited and about 250$ 1st edition. Should I save up for the blue eyes or can someone give me a site where I can buy it cheaper.

    Thanks ;)

I have no clue what a booster box even is. And I thinks it's sad that you are willing to pay $100^ for one. Playing cards? Really?

Don't waste your money. Unless you are playing the game you aren't making any sort of investment and even then you are wasting your money.

The cards are worthless now and they will be in 30 years.

They actually might be worth a bit after a while. Look at baseball cards. But if you srsly still play that shit...

^^^^^^ Report for being off topic.
My friend plays YuGiOh and he's not sad -.-

Anyway. Correct me if I'm wrong but wouldn't you be better getting individual cards and forming your own deck. Then buying like some weak ones you can sacrifice. I don't know all too much but you could use the real life sales forum to pick up some good cards. Also, I'd suggest spending a little less money than you've planned. That seems awfully expensive. Good Luck. If it's for trying to get like a valuable card after time go and buy individual rare cards.

I never said anything about the game. I was talking about spending $100^ up on the cards and hows you shouldn't do that.

The topic is him buying cards. My post wasn't off-topic.

Bro, I'd pick Legend of Blue Eyes White Dragon.

They're the 1st ever packs and naturally, the first is always the best :p.

Let's not forget the rares that are available (Exodia pieces, Blue Eyes White Dragon, Dark Magician, Raigeki, etc) :D

But i'm just saying, Yu-Gi-Oh might not be a fad anymore in 25-30 years. I'd invest in sports or some other popular area of interest that is the attention of a diverse range of people world-wide with no limits on the age group. Baseball, let's say, has great success in the last 50-100 years as our nation's (United State's) past time and the popularity increased. Because of the inflation of popularity, it caused a boom in the card.

What' I'm saying... Yu-Gi-Oh has pretty much peaked now and with all the constantly changing and new fads, it's not looking to last much longer. It's hard to think of a great sport or replacement for the major interests already implemented into our cultures so it's wise to invest there.

    Good luck!

Did I say the word "sad"? Oh, no I didn't. Don't put words in my mouth. If you can have your opinion on playing the game I can have mine. I also want to mention that it would be a good investment nonetheless, certain cards will be extremely hard to come by later on for collectors.

Thank you for the on-topic post. I will actually follow this advice as it does make sense, I want an unopened box to look at.

As for the other wonderful contributor, I do not play yugioh and if you were mentally capable enough to read my post you would have noted that i will maybe open them 30 years later for good old times' sake.

If you were born in 93 you would probably be familiar with original yugioh and know that it was a great anime and manga and hence I want a piece of its history for myself.
