Remember When

it was cool to own an Apple product, when it was cool to have the latest phone or the new iPad. Now that the iPhones are free with contracts and there are so many iPhones, its not as cool anymore.

I used to go into Apple stores per 2007 and there would be about 10 people in it, now there's 30+ people; half of them just using the computers for play.

I guess that's one of the changes with Apple becoming a bigger company

Thoughts? Do you agree?

 

Uh, yeah their growing with their popularity.

 

It is ridiculous how much people are willing to pay for this stuff, the iPod I can understand, there isn't many touchscreen MP3's with apps etc. out there.

The iPad is an iPod that isn't as portable.

The iPhone is an overpriced touch screen phone.

Need I go on?

 

The only reason i have an iPhone is because Apple has a great media player in all their devices. I use my 3GS more for music than i do actually texting/calling. Apps are hardly worth the time, they get boring fairly quick just like anything else.

I don't really understand the uproar. Aside from iPods, and iPhones, i would have no need to use any of their other overpriced products.

 

I don't see the need for iPhones, there are plenty of other better touch screen mobile phones, that are cheaper. Such as the HTC Wildfire.

People just buy it because it is apple.

It's same with any trend, really. The first people to be a part of it are initially overlooked, then when the trend catches up and becomes popular, it's suddenly "not cool" anymore; it becomes the norm.

 

Had an iPhone since the day the original came out. Mecool?

 

It's not that iPhones are free. It's that iPhones are now offered on Verizon, and will be open sourced to sprint and T-mobile as pre-paid phones.

 

Literally everyone in my school owns an iPhone now... so the days of "OMG can I look through your apps" are over.

 

Loool. It's not cool anymore because loads of people have them. So the number of people who own an object determines how cool that object is, not the technology behind it, cause if you feel like that. No one uses Nokias from 2000 why don't you buy one of those.

Yes it is, but he's not talking about the item not being popular, he's talking about it not being cool anymore because of how popular it is. This is all backwards.

 

What he means is that, when you show people your iPhone, there isn't really a "wow" reaction anymore.
You say everyone has an iPhone but here in Canada almost all the people I know have Blackberry's and if you don't have BBM, we don't talk.

 

Just like with every piece of computer hardware.
