1. How do you feel about Squeal of Fortune?

It deteriorates from the rest of the game. Being able to get an AGS or BCP can be a hell of a lot easier than it was before. Too much luck is based on this. It's just another scheme by Jagex to make some extra money if an F2P player gets a rare item. Even though you can't sell the items, there's no work involved in order to get the items. Prices could possibly drop if a glitch/bug occurs that boosts the % of rare items occurring.

2. Do you like the recent armour updates (the new pictures Jagex put out for dragon hide thats expose to come out tommarow, and changing the armours to look newer aged)?

Completely hate them. There was nothing wrong with them in the first place. Jagex is once again trying to bring in new players and is updating their armor in order to look as close to "WoW" as possible. Being a player since 05, it pains me to see this happen.

3. Is the new firecape too easy?

Haven't tried it out yet. I've heard from friends that it's easier than it was before but others say it's still too hard.

4. What do you think about RuneScape pking right now?

Blows dick. The only reason I came back to RS after they got rid of PvP worlds was for the "old wildy like experience" that I knew and loved. Now, you have a bunch of rushers running around with overpowered weapons and armors. Deep wildy pking and team pking is nearly gone. Everything is condensed to Edge and Wests. Varrock is empty as well. Can't wait for rs2006, hopefully it will be as good as they're telling everyone.

5. What do you think about rs2006 RSPS and how they get over 1.5k new members everyday and its not even out yet, will everybody move to rs2006?

I think it's going to be a huge success, as long as they stay true to what they're advertising. Once it comes out, I think the majority of old players will move to rs2006 and will be content. We just have to wait and see what happens with that server. Can't wait.

6. Will the RuneScape economy ever get better? Considering just about all items in the items in the most expensive item section are dropping?

Not unless Jagex does something about it. The way people are playing and spending their money, I don't think it will ever get better. The only way I can see it getting better is if Jagex makes an update that causes everyone to start playing like they used to. However, considering the current quality of updates, I don't think the economy will get better since the players have no reason to play like they used to. Although, if new bots are created like they used to be and there's a huge surge of bots, then yes, it could happen. But, the chances of that happening are slim for now.

 

Idk I think I am finally done with RuneScape wasted all of my RSGP on giftcards that I bought from people on here. I want to make sure I don't come back to RS so I'm giving the account away and I thought it would be a cool/fun thing to do for a givaway?

1.) I think it's a bit like that one Neopets game, so I was not too intrigued. That stopped once I won an abyssal whip, now I can't wait for my two spins

2.) The armor updates look awesome, although I am a RSC player at heart I am always up for some sexy updates.

3.) Somewhat. But with the new TokHaar-Kal I think that's what everyone is going to want. And that is VERY hard. So I think it compensates it well.

4.) It's not the same as it was back in the day. Yes I believe the only right way to pk is the RSC way, and I will always stick to that.

5.)Thank you for letting me google 'rs2006' and having me be one of the 1,500 members that signed up today haha.

6.) I have no idea honestly...I can't ever tell but I think it will only continue to drop unless a major update/release proves me wrong.

 

You can give away cash or items, just not accounts. If you change the prize to cash, or a gamecard, or something that has no possibility of scamming, then I believe it is allowed. Check the RS Section rules for clarification.

 

My mistake, misread the sticky, will go and rewrite that part of the sticky as it's easy to misread that. GP giveaways are allowed, accounts are not.

1. How do you feel about Squeal of Fortune?
Not a fan at all. I think the concept is extremely lame, childish, immature, and appeals to an audience of young kids. I don't like how "random" it is, it would be much better if you had to go somewhere to spin the wheel - like the goblin village in Lumbridge or above Falador. I think it also undermines the people who work extremely hard to obtain items like sigil shields, claws, bandos etc. Now anybody has a chance at winning one for free, and thats one less person who will have to learn what its like to work to achieve a goal and buy a rare item.

I am really on the fence about the armour updates. I was very horrified at what they did to Barrows armour, but I have adjusted now and learned to live with the tweaked versions. I still miss my old Ahrim's set though haha. Not a big fan of the new dragon armour that is coming out, but alot of the graphical updates do look pretty awesome, particularly many of the F2P armours.

3. Is the new firecape too easy?
Well, I don't have one so I don't really have authority to answer that I think that the new fire cape still requires a great deal of skill, time, and resources, not to mention a regular fire cape, meaning you have mastered the fight caves. I think players have just been complaining as they are disappointed that Jagex made it sound "near impossible", yet in reality its not as tough as anticipated.

4. What do you think about RuneScape pking right now?
It's a mess. The wilderness needs a major overhaul in the form of further balancing the combat triangle, introducing some kind of "wait" period in between fights to avoid all the PJ'ing that goes on. I also think that the current weapons in RS are far too overpowered (I grew up PK'ing back in the pre-2006 era where PK'ing took far more skill).

5. What do you think about rs2006 RSPS and how they get over 1.5k new members everyday and its not even out yet, will everybody move to rs2006?
I don't know too much about this RSPS, but I have noticed that its very highly anticipated and I will definitely want to check it out when it arrives. I do really like modern RS, but I think its lacking alot of the beloved elements of the pre-2006 era and will draw in alot of veteran players who are unhappy with the current direction the game is taking.

6. Will the RuneScape economy ever get better? Considering just about all items in the items in the most expensive item section are dropping?
I think the economy will stabilize eventually, it is going to take many years though with all the damage that bots have had on bringing resources and gold into the game. Right now is not a good time to judge the state of the economy though, as with bonus exp approaching the market is more crazy than normal.

I personally dislike it, it's just Jagex's new scheme to con people out of their money. All the good rewards require membership.

The dragon hide actually looks fairly decent and might actually make rangers look good for once, without buying the really expensive gear. (ranger hat+boots)

Definitely not, you need maxed or near maxed strength, attack, magic, prayer and summoning.

Player killing doesn't interest me anymore. I can never find a fight without being either rushed or pjed.

Jagex will shut them down. They have done so before with many servers like frugooscape.

I doubt it, with the lack of bots everyone is doing either PvM or staking to get RSGP and with the PvMing more items are being brought.

It's a brilliant money scheme, yet people don't really know it yet. I think the XP lamps were a replacement for the effigys that were nerfed.

Yes, they look way better than before. People might not think of the armors in this game as a total joke.

I don't have one so I can't comment, I've seen pures get it so it must be do-able.

It's worse than it was before. People have no respect like they used too, back then people used to know who the PKers were if they were regulars.

I think it's a great project but not everybody will move. I know the people that think the game is going bad might consider playing it.

No, Jagex keeps on making better and faster ways to train. New bosses and content are added, people don't want to make lower GP than they can possibly make.

I feel the squeal of fortune is a pretty cool game addition. It helps the poor and new players get decent items, at the handicap of them being untradeable.

Yes, I like the new armour updates. I find it adds a little bit of "spice" to the game making the graphics look better. In my opinion the, the better graphics makes the game more enjoyable.

Hmmm, I have seen some videos on people attempting this and I think it may be too easy. I saw a video of a guy getting to the final boss then finally noticing he brought the wrong scrolls for his unicorn (he didn't try healing the whole time until the end).

4. What do you think about RuneScape pking right now?
I think that pking blows right now, there are way too many pjers and it gets annoying.

5. What do you think about rs2006 RSPS and how they get over 1.5k new members everyday and its not even out yet, will everybody move to rs2006?
Yes, i myself never heard about this until right now and i just went and made my own account! This seems like an awesome idea and cannot wait!

I don't think so, so why? Look at how fast the rate of people is declining, the game seems to be getting shitier and shitier day by day.

 

1. How do you feel about Squeal of Fortune?

I feel like my opinion towards the Squeal of Fortune doesn't really have any effect on JaGeX, but personally I think that it is fifty percent good and fifty percent bad. The Squeal of Fortune is good for people who don't have the GP to buy expensive Spirit Shields such as Arcanes and Divines as it gives them a small chance of being able to obtain them. It is also a pro that the rare Squeal of Fortune items are not tradeable, as it will not ruin the Runescape economy. The bad half of this update in my opinion is that people that have just started playing the game are eligible to receive a Arcane Spirit Shield by just clicking a button, as players that don't have the same luck must grind for weeks in order to be able to afford an item such as that. All in all, the update is not a good one in my opinion.

I do not like the recent armour updates, the reason being for this is that Iron looks way to much like Torva, I think me not being used to the new look of the armour is playing a big part in my opinion. I am sure that I will eventually come to enjoy the new looks of the armour. Only time will tell for me.

I think that the new firecape is deffinately not too easy, it's about time that an update was put into the game where there was actually a real challenge. The new firecape is just the right difficulty in my opinion.

4. What do you think about RuneScape pking right now?

I think that RuneScape pking is a bit of a mess right now, the real big problem with pking at the moment is the rushing problem, I am sure a large number of people can agree with me that rushing has become a problem. When I find a fight, it seems about eighty percent of the time the fight will be interupted atleast once by a rusher. I really do hope that JaGeX will fix this sometime this month.

5. What do you think about rs2006 RSPS and how they get over 1.5k new members everyday and its not even out yet, will everybody move to rs2006?

I think that the rs2006 RSPS is a great idea and I am expecting alot from them, it is truly amazing that they are gaining more than 1.5k members per day. I hope that people do not bot realy hard on rs2006 as it would take away from the rs2006 feel that they are striving for. Personally, I don't think that everybody will neccesarily move to rs2006 but instead, play modern day RuneScape mostly and then a bit of rs2006 on the side, or vice versa. But by no means do I think that people will start quitting modern day RuneScape and moving over to rs2006.

6. Will the RuneScape economy ever get better? Considering just about all items in the items in the most expensive item section are dropping?

The RuneScape economy will get better, but really only time will tell, it could very well be that the prices of things in the game could stay how they are currently and not change much. Even considering that just about all items in the items in the most expensive item section are dropping I do still expect the items to go back up. Rares will always be considered rare no matter what in my opinion.

I have absolutely no problem with it, it's actually been a bit of fun, trying to land a lucky divine or armadyl godsword.

I'll always get a sense of nostalgia when I look back and see the old armors, but a armor update was seriously needed and I'm glad Jagex are taking a step in the right direction.

Not entirely sure as I have never had a chance to try it out, but from what I've seen + heard, it's only simple if you have access to all types of high level content (overloads, unicorn, storm of armadyl, chaotics, nex sets and so on) and even then it can be a daunting task. So no, I'm perfectly fine with the way it is.

4. What do you think about RuneScape pking right now?

I rarely pk anymore as Edgeville pking can be quite frustrating with the amount of rushers in the game. I have been having a lot of fun running around at the revenant caves and in multi though, so I can't complain.

5. What do you think about rs2006 RSPS and how they get over 1.5k new members everyday and its not even out yet, will everybody move to rs2006?

It seems like a great private server, but there is a difference from a team of people and a company, even with the influx of people joining I doubt it will last. Not to mention it is runescape 2006, and I'm sure everyone who played Runescape at that time will get a sense of nostalgia playing it, but the fact of the matter is, there will be no updates to the game + it's regular exp, which I can't see holding peoples attention for extended periods of time.

As people continue to collect these items + newer/better content is released, these items will continue to drop, so no, I can't see them ever rising up and stabilising again.

The sequel of fortune is quite an interesting one, it allows a lot of people the 'chance' to acquire items that they would not normally be able to get. This is really good for low levels. But because of this items will lose some of their value, which is annoying for higher levels. Jagex probably did this so that players would log in each day, which creates more traffic and so more money..
I actually think it’s a good update and it makes you look forward to something each day and can be kind of fun when spinning. So over all its a good update.

Yes they are awsome, and are comparablet to other good games. Much needed

Well it can be easy if you are very rich and can afford the best items in game, torva etc, but it is very hard for people like me who can’t afford those types of armours. So no it’s not easy, mainly because of the time you need to invest in getting one.
4. What do you think about RuneScape pking right now?
It can be very fun and rewarding; the only limiting factor to the enjoyment is pjers/rushers. You can easily 2 hit most people, if you have a good enough account/armour, which is really annoying for the person who got killed. So pking can be enjoyable if you get lucky and there aren’t any pjers.rushers.

5. What do you think about rs2006 RSPS and how they get over 1.5k new members everyday and its not even out yet, will everybody move to rs2006?

I really don’t understand why someone would join this ps, either they really hate the current runescape, or they long for the old runescape. I can’t have fun in a 'fake' runescape so i wouldn’t ever play it. But i can understand why people would as i said above.

Well previous trends suggest that it the items will rise, but things are different now with all of the updates/nukes. I would say that they will rise but not as high as they were before.

Stupid and rigged. I feel it's stupid because of how the economy has reacted to it. Every item winnable from it dropped considerable when it was firstly released. Now once everyone realised the chances of actually winning a 'red boxed' item were slim, those items are now beginning to rise. I think it was a stupid idea to begin with to introduce such as lame feature.

I feel it is rigged because as I stated previously that the chances of actually winning something decent is slim. On one particular spin, the needle landed on the red part of the wheel. After an extra delay then usual, the needle moved one notch, landing me on a gold part of the wheel.

I do. They all look awesome and I'm looking forward to tomorrows update. RuneShark recently posted a video of all or most of the items which were to be graphically updated and they plan on doing a before and after video of each set of armour so I'm looking forward to that too.

The quest is fairly easy however I haven't tried going for the new Fire Cape.


4. What do you think about RuneScape pking right now?
It's not as good as it used to be. I don't mind the overpowered items such as Dragon Claws and Nex gear, however as pointed out by some of the popular RuneScape video makers/PKer's particularly Bonesaw Pk, PJ'ing is a major issue and with the reintroduction of the 5 second PJ timer, it would make PK'ing more hassle-free.

However I do not PK as much as I like to so I have nothing to banter or complain much about.


5. What do you think about rs2006 RSPS and how they get over 1.5k new members everyday and its not even out yet, will everybody move to rs2006?
Quite amazing, as I didn't know they received so many extra users each day. I did hear about it a while ago and possibly even know the developers (from a different site). I don't think everyone will move to it though.


6. Will the RuneScape economy ever get better? Considering just about all items in the items in the most expensive item section are dropping?
The economy was ruined as soon as the Grand Exchange was introduced and I don't think it will ever be the same. Currently, most if not all rares have been fluctuating and with the double exp weekend coming up, soon skilling items will also do the same.

I love the new armour updates, i feel like they should adress the graphical issues first though but, whatever.

I think its just about spot on, I also love the fact how you dont HAVE to get the new cape, you could also pick between an uncut onyx.

I wish the community was like how it was way back when! I also think they should bring back bounty hunter, that was hella fun

I think its a great idea and ill be sure to test it out when it comes out but, i think Runescape is doing great. The only problem is the community and i dont think putting a game back 6 years will change that

I sure hope so! I think the only reason it is in such a rut is because of the bot nuke.

 

1. The squeal of fortune was a really great addition to Runescape, Its really hard to get an actual good item though.

2. TBH I dislike what Jagex did to all the armors. It take's away the classic feeling and the armor itself doesnt look very good. They ruined Bandos armour and completely destroyed the look of torva. Also after seeing how dragonhide looks now, it doesnt even look like dragonhide!

3. I havent tried getting the new fire cape. I suspect it's pretty hard to get it because of the fact you have to go through an even harder Jad (Tokhaar Jad Level 780) and even after that you have to fight another monster that is even harder (Har-Aken Level 800) Which makes me think that the new fire cape is pretty hard to get.

4. Runescape pking is fine as it is right now in fact its better than it used to be, the only thing I dislike about pking is how people use the polypore staff, it is very overpowered.

5. I think this is just rediculous, The server hasnt even been released yet and there is already so many players on the server. It does look like it has a lot of potential because they plan on making it an exact copy of Runescape back in 2006, Ive played since 2005 and if i see it just like the Runescape back then i will be very suprised.

6. Well you cant really be sure about this. I've got no clue but I sure do hope it gets better.
