New sticky in RS General

I believe that there should be a new sticky or possibly even a new section created.

The new sticky would house all of the "Where to train" threads.
These threads annoy the shit out of me, honestly. The wiki provides tons of great places to train. I know it doesn't contain all, but people post their other ideas without reasoning.

As you see, i reference the wiki in my post, (which is disregarded and followed by countless, useless posts that aren't backed up by any reasoning.)

These threads usually are drawn out for many pages, where everyone displays their personal training preferences, and then it dies.

This is a huge waste of space, time, and posts. Most of the posts in these threads should be infracted, coming to another (debatable) point of there should be no post count in this imposed addition as so far what I've seen, nobody actually supports what they post.

I spend most of my time in RS general, and if you're seen my threads created, you'll notice that i report more than I post, I like the place to be clean, and number one, I want people to back up (support reasoning) for their posts

You can have the best idea in the world, but if you don't say why, it doesn't matter.

I don't know why I'm still posting this. I'm around 0/8 on suggestions.

 

Honestly it'd just be better to make those threads against the rules, with a sticky supplying link to runewiki

 

I don't think so...people need places to discuss, though i do wish people would use the wiki before posting.

 

I know what your trying to portray.

I ask numerous questions about fishing and how to 99 it in <2 weeks.

But if there was a thread and if it was to be stickied. we would need atleast 20 people help out all the time to peoples question. It wouldnt be an easy job at all.

 

I see the point you're trying to make, but it's the fact that 95% of the discussions on Sythe.org are not backed up by reasoning, so I fail to see why we should randomly put a restriction on this type of discussion. It's RuneScape General after all, it belongs there, it may be annoying, but some people honestly just want ideas/suggestions, not an end all, best ever training spot. Just because they might not supply an exact reason why something might be a good spot, doesn't mean it's a useless post.

 

There's a lot of stickies as it is there, and too many more will make it crowded. Though the fact that this is a good suggestion, I'll support to it.

I guess.. But there's always help clans in rs, which are more likely to be helpful than on a website on which a lot of people skip the levelling

Just a FYI to everyone requesting new stickies.
Having a sticky, will make it so everyone goes to 1 thread, and doesn't browse the forums.
Causing less $ for Sythe.org to gain.
Sythe.org gets $ per VIEW on a page with an ad on it, meaning..
If there are 50 threads about where to train, it's more than likely going to cause a lot of people to go through each one to find what they are looking for.
Giving sythe.org a lot of admoney.
If you make a sticky, they will just view that, and get linked to Wiki site, and wiki will get the admoney.

many more future views, referrals, sales, etc.

My choice is the latter, for obvious reasons. I'd rather a happy community than a profiting site, not to anger the admins or anything.

I don't support at all. I almost always avoid making a sticky about topics, because putting up a topic in a sticky means it automatically gets half as many views as it normally would.
