    Mints?

Mint cake is a rare food item that, when eaten, will restore a player's run energy to 100%. Mint cakes restore more energy per consumption than any other item. However, although super energy potions only restore 40% energy per consumption, up to four doses of super energy potion can be fit into one vial, giving a super energy potion (4) 160% of run energy restoration versus the 100% of a mint cake.

A mint cake can be obtained as a rare reward from the Gnome Restaurant minigame by doing hard orders for the gnomic explorers Brambickle, Penwie and Wingstone.

There is one other way to obtain a mint cake: During or after The Path of Glouphrie quest, Longramble will exchange a mint cake in return for delivering a Tangled Toad Legs. This can only be done once.

Mint cakes are virtually never used for run energy restoration as they are very rare. The rarity of mint cakes has allowed them to be completely bought out of the Grand Exchange. This is not because mint cakes are useful as an item, but rather because they are very rare and hard to get. However the real reason behind the players buying Mint Cakes for several millions is unknown. Due to it's recent popularity they have a very high street price of 2-15 million coins as of January 18, 2010, depending on the price that the sellers/buyers have, (their junk).

As of January 20, 2009 mint cakes have been going up in price because of players using them to sell and buy whips.

    Mints?

Mints are items that is used as junk trade. Street price is about 13M+. Why are they important? Why do people want them? Because there is not a lot of them in the runescape economy. There is two ways to get these and that is to do a quest to only get 1 for 1 account. Or do a mini game which nobody bother to do. And if you complete the mini game you have a chance on geting the RARE reward, Mint Cake. Since very little people actually do them, there is very little supply of Mint Cake in runescape economy. Which means they are very easy to be baught out. Makeing them practically be skyrocketed in price.

Why do lot of people want them? Because they are items that you can used to safely get rid of Junk items, such as a merchant item that is being dumped or regular junk item from skilling. Also they are very commonly used to buy rare holiday items such as every Edible holiday item, Phats, Disk. You will have a VERY VERY VERY VERY hard time trying to buy the rare holiday item i have mention with only gold. Most people only sell those holiday rare items for over 30+ Mint cakes and cash!

In other words mint cake are the ultimate item manipulation in runescape. Jagex wants to stop item manipulator. But they don't relized that mint cake is the best example of a item being manipulated. Everybody believe that these edible junk item have actual worth, Causing a huge demand for them while there is very little supply. This item is not manipulated by clans but instead was manipulated by every person in runescape. My belief is that it just us as runescape player trying to find ways to get passed the trade restrictions. As we all desire for more then what we work for.
