    I went to this tutoring place for maths, and I got this question I didnt get :S so my first instinct would be to come here :D

    So heres the question:
    If A = {t,e,a,c,h,e,r}, B = {s,t,u,d,e,n,t},
    find A(B

    ^ the symbol is actually 90 degrees clockwise and more curvy, like a top half of circle. Cant find alt code if there is one -_-

    Simple Maths Question

    These are called Sets. In english thats a group (not necessarily letters), could be anything from numbers to cars.

    A and B are two seperate sets.

    A = {t,e,a,c,h,e,r}, this means A has the letters t,e,a,c,h,e,r inside it.

    B = {s,t,u,d,e,n,t}, this means B has the letters s,t,u,d,e,n,t inside it.

    Now the sign you mentioned means 'intersection', hence 'A intersection B' is the letters which are in both A and B.

    The answer would be A^B = {t,e}

    Hope I helped.
