    Few computer questions :)

    1) I have a compaq Presario CQ56. I want to upgrad the Processor. What can i upgrade it too? Atm it has a intel celeron (shit i know ;) ) and how do i go about doing it?

    2) Im looking for a HD PVR but have no idea what to go for. I dont want a really expensive one but i want it to be clear. Any ideas? Dont really want a Hauppage :)

    Few computer questions :)

    1. Any Mendocino or Coppermine-128 processor with a 370 socket. I believe you can use Tualatin-256 as well. You'll find a list with them on it here.


    I would get the Celeron 1400 if your notebook is compatible with the Tualatin. If it's not you can get a Celeron 1.10 or 1.00. There aren't really many upgrades for such an old processor though, and the 1400 is the only one in my opinion that's worth buying, since the others are only slightly better. The one you have isn't too bad though.


    2. What's wrong with the Hauppage one? Heres one made by Gefen for $999, but I'm sure you can find a cheaper one. Hauppage has cheaper ones.

    Heres another one, Still around the $1000 area though but I'm not finding any much cheaper

    Wouldn't bother upgrading a laptop CPU, it's usually expensive. And it's not the easiest thing you can do.
