Since when have the staff members ever been held to a standard in the first place? What would you expect...

They Are Staff... They don't just recruit random people off the site.

Next time, just say "the rules aren't specific enough, you should update them to include such-and-such," and that you disagree with the posting of rules as stickies -.-

We can't possibly account for every situation in the rules; not only would that require immense foresight, but it would require a really long list of rules that no one would actually read. So often, yes, we do have to interpret or apply the rules to situations as we think is appropriate.

In this case, I will gladly add that the rule applies to MSN addresses as well, but you shouldn't be looking at the rules as if they are all-encompassing anyway. It's not a thread that people bookmark, and check every few minutes - it's something most members skim through when they join, and probably never look at again. The goal of the thread is to highlight important violations as simply and directly as possible (don't spam, you are allowed only one account, don't rip, don't post porn/advertise, etc).

That's also why we generally prefer the use of stickies for post-related issues - they're simply a way to help moderate the section. Not only are they more immediate and specific reminders of the rules (for people who don't actually remember what they read in the thread months ago), but they also reduce the clutter of the rules list, and make the more important rules stand out more. Ie, it's not in the rules that a member must post a screenshot when selling an account, but there is a sticky informing members that they will be infracted if they don't. Why? Because it's a small issue, it relates to a very specific activity (selling accounts), and frankly it's more useful where it is.

Mods are more than welcome to "make stickies up on the fly" if it helps them moderate. That's what they're meant for in the first place. Rules, on the other hand, are always discussed before being added to the rules list, and require Sythe's approval; only minor clarifications are made without.

I know it couldn't possibly include everything, that's preposterous, but something as BLATANT and well-known as MSN Hacking and Freezing should be mentioned. I believe I stand on solid ground when I say that that is an impeding situation in here. How many Mods have had their MSN's hacked? Exactly.

The Stickies on The Fly yeah is fine for sensible stickied material. But I disagree with your sticky rule threads being legitimate. I mean no standardized government implements laws or "amendments" (used generally) on the fly. Hell you can't even kill a criminal that quick.

Beside's if that were the case with the stickies, then I'm sure a lot of mods and/or members could think of a lot of threads deemed "stickable".

Rules should be considered and added as needed. If members don't look at the Thread, it is their fault, but that gives you NO excuse to be lazy or feel it unnecissary to put it literally in the rules, because of the fact or the assumption they will merely "skim" through it.

If you are gonna point out signature sizes, I think MSN Hacking Accountability along with any other form of Instant Messaging should be mentioned.
