    Feedback on my new Website

Hey guys, just went live with my new marketing hub www.weeklymarketing.net last week, let me know what you guys think about design and content. If you're interested in marketing or the monthly ranking of TV commercials, go ahead and join the forums, I'm currently looking for category mods and such.

Please be honest and constructive with your criticism, as it's only my second website and I'm trying to learn how to make the UI better.

P.S. I know that the Forum doesn't link back to the home page, and I'm working on it.

Looks nice. Maybe make a few more starter topics on the forums though so people don't go there and have nothing to do.

Yeah, I'm working on it. I'm a full time university student, so I don't have a ton of time to work on it, but I will definitely get some up within a week or so.

Indeed it could use a few off-topic sections, as any good forum has them. IE: Sythe has many many sections outside of the market, but the market is truthfully still the main section.

The boards colors are very bland, black on white isn't really fit to go anywhere in as plain of a fashion as that outside of a word document.

    Comparison:

    As to
    [IMG]

So those colors could really use some changing, don't be afraid to look at some bigger, more popular forums for theme ideas. Obviously don't copy them blatantly, but inspiration is always nice.

The idea for the forum is great imo, it just needs a community behind it. I understand your a university student, so of course you have things going on, but if you really want this to turn into something as compared to moth forums that people start and abandon a month later, a lot of work is going to be required i assure you.

Thanks for the advice meeder, however, I am going to keep the white background, as I feel it is more appropriate for a professional forum, but I will definitely look into getting more interesting and colorful icons and changing the text color.

Dark backgrounds are good for gaming or modern forums, but to attract the attention of professionals, it is better to go with a light background and high contrast, but I agree it could use a little more color overall.

As for the community aspect, I need to find a way to increase the conversion rate to get people to register for the forums. Getting people to the site most likely will not be a problem, as I have a $105 Google AdWords credit and a $50 Microsoft AdCenter credit that I am going to use to begin an advertising campaign. The conversion rate is very low at the moment though, so I would really like some input as to what I could do to entice people to actually sign up for the forum.

    Thanks for the input,
    Mhfan12

Changed the home page a bit to encourage higher conversion. Please evaluate.

It looks like one of those websites that are like "earn 5000 a month from your house!"

    Just the style of it.

Thanks No1s, BTW I just set the forums to allow guests to vote in polls, so if you want to vote on the current best 5 commercial submissions, you don't even need to register now.
