Feedback - Graphic Design

Hey guys,
I just wanted feedback on this logo I made for my school.
The school like it I just don't know what I think about it.
What do you guys think?
The logo is put in small above announcements ect.
Or what do you guys think I could fix up about it?

The drop shadow you've used is way too overdone.

 

alright. what parts do you reckon I should take out?
(I've done graphics for less then a month)

 

1st image, i'd not make it so far down, 2nd image i'd make that thinner.

Thanks for the feed back. I'll defiantly look into doing something about that drop shadow
