Why was this given its own section in off topic of all places?

Off topic is a part of the non market criteria. Cryptocurrency is digital money. Money involves the market and if there is discussion to be made of this, it should be in a sub section of Market Discussion.

It's not an important section that can stir up quality threads.

It's cluttering off topic and it does not fit.

Thoughts?

 

It's hardly cluttered.......... Having a section, moved to a sub-section if need be is better than a sub-section nobody can see to start with.

Most news articles to do with BTC were being put in Off-topic. Assets & Investments was a part of OT and it was to do with stocks and money, so I don't see why that's reasoning to not have it where it is. And as for importance; with Sythe Wallets on the way - there is huge potential for new members and discussion.

 

I can't wait for the Sythe Wallet feature.

 

I think it was placed in the right section, and it's far from cluttering. With Sythe Wallet coming soon I feel this was a well needed update for the site.

 

Clutter as in too much for a forum category.

It's undeniable that it wouldn't be missed under Market Discussion, being as it would be the only sub section to it. There isn't much going on in Market Discussion besides the generic topics anyways.

 

It does seem as though it should be in the market section. Atleast a link to it.

 

I think its perfect where it is right now, I think its too big of a topic for a subsection. I'd support moving it somewhere else maybe but as a subsection, no thanks.

 

I also believe that it is fine where it is at. Now later down the line if necessary then maybe a move could be made.

 

BGlave, I think you're being short sighted. The Crypto-currency forum is actually really important to Sythe's future. We are looking to integrate crypto into the trading system, and this could open up a lot of new possibilities. The forum is in its infancy and hasn't even been here for a month.

Sythewallet could separate this forum from others and create a new type of black market trading system. People who would not have bothered trading here may completely reconsider once Sythewallet is available. I'm not just talking about Runescape, people from WoW, D3, etc. may be lured in by a superior trading system.
