Feasibility of Buying a Maxed Main

In the market for a maxed (2277) osrs main, but I am concerned about the practicality of it. Is it even worth trying to buy one in today's market? I understand the risk of buying accounts, but I feel like even a very well-repped account dealer would scam in regards to the amount of $$ a maxed acc would cost.


Does anyone have any success stories? I know to stay away from playerauctions due to their shitty insurance. Thanks

 

Like Andy said, buying accounts is always risky buy you can make yourself sleep much better at night by buying it from someone who is highly trusted.

Prices are normally higher, but you can find it. I have a decently price main, but not close to maxed.

Thanks for the words. I have bought/sold a couple accounts here, so I will be sure to do my due diligence with the seller. I am expecting to pay proper price for one, I was just hesitant as to whether or not maxed accounts were actually moved frequently.


What's market price for a max account? Not taking into account special untradeables/pets.

 

Even when buying from highly trusted members it’s a very good thing to still be cautious. Look at their recent activity, recent pardons or reports, recent vouches etc.

If you want to make this investment, better make sure you do everything to minimize risk.

 

Make sure to buy it from someone who is running an active business where it wouldn't make sense to scam

 

Make sure if you buy an acc with that high of a value to buy from very active and trusted people within the community. This will make the chance of getting scammed a lot lower. For example @Azie I know he has sold multiple accs without issue.

An account like that is going to want a Tbow/Scythe, etc. that’s $3K+ we’re talking about.
I’m the kind of person where I’d only spend that kind of money on a recoverable account if I were trading IRL info. They’d have to be relatively close to where I lived. That’s just me.

Otherwise, you can find them here and have a good chance of security.. but you REALLY need to do your homework on the seller. It’ll be worth you putting in the time to get to know your seller, man. GL.

 

Can be pretty profitable now a days if you play a lot. When buying any account its always a risk. Just do good homework on the person your buying from be sure they offer some guarantees.

 

This is good advice, I hadn't considered that. I feel like it would be quite stressful to have that much wealth on an account that could theoretically be recovered at any time.

I will definitely do my research and be very patient in finding a good seller if I take the plunge, thank you to everyone for the great responses

 

Good luck my friend! I've bought a few accounts thru in person meets before and I always felt safest with those purchases.
Also, you mentioned Playerauctions. I've had a PA account since like 2010 and sold many different things there. PA does the best they can to secure account sales, there's no doubt in that. However, I feel like their security features (unintentionally) protect the seller. I won't say how, but I've been scammed before by people "gaming" the system. I would never buy an account there.

You can buy a maxed main, as in any account it just comes down to who you purchase from and how much you're willing to spend with said vendor.

IMO the best way to get the account you want is to have patience and pay someone to max "YOUR OWN ACCOUNT" then you have 0 risks, yes it may take longer but you get exactly what you want.. security.

100% agree on making your own account and having it trained for you. instead of buying one. that way you have no chance of getting the account recovered, ever.

 

People who max are in it to win it. I wouldn't buy an account someone has devoted thousands of hours too because they likely will want that account back at some point. The only positive side about buying a maxed account is it's going to cost significantly less than having one trained for you.

 

Would advise against buying one. Even from a reputable member.
