What the hell?

So I did my placements today, last season I ended silver 2. And I was 5-5 I think but (I'm not saying I'm good or anything I'm at a silver level) I was with people who just turned level 30, I was with people who were bronze 5 last season. Carrying was super easy and I Always got fed and won lane I was just able to only win half of those games. Anyways I got put in bronze 2? That seems pretty weird to me. Like I was with teams who we had players who that was their first ranked game and they were duoing.

Alright I was wondering if that's what it was. Oh well I will get back to silver easily it will just take forever ha I wanted to try to get to plat by the end of this season because I met a guy whos in diamond 1 who's helping me get better. I don't want to have to play 20 games just to be back where I was oh well. I'm less mad now haha

 

It happened to everyone. Placements were brutal. I got completely screwed in mine - in 3 of my placement matches we were 4v5. I think I ended up going 4-6 in my placements and I went from Gold 2 to Silver 4.

 

Well if you were playing against low skilled opponents that means you have really low mmr and since you only went 5-5 you were put into a pretty low division. It is pretty harsh but you can definitely climb back up. I personally just reclaimed Gold 5 after being placed in silver 2. I went 3-7 but was paired with higher skilled opponents so even with the 7 losses i only had to climb a couple of divisions to get back to the start.

 

wow :\ I really hope this does not happen to me about to do my promos in a few days.

 

Yeah I know I'll climb back up my mmr at the end of s3 was ~1300 so I'm bummed I got placed with those guys.

And it will we are so late into the season that people playing the promos now are fresh level 30s unfortunately

 

well it's a soft reset, so expecting to get same place would make no sense

 

Well thats good for me as i'm a fresh level 30.

 

You'll get a lot of LP per win so you can carry yourself back up fast.

 

If you're playing with B5 players that's the reason for the bronze placement.

If you were playing with silver you probably would have been placed in silver.

I'm doing mine soon as well, going to duo with a gold 4. Last season I was bronze 1 but I played a lot of normals inbetween and I think I'm ready to keep moving on.

 

Yeah I'm getting about 30 lp per win which is nice luckily bronze 2 people actually try and I'm matched with mostly silver players too. Yeah it's annoying but 30 lp per win and really easy lanes should back up to upper silver in a couple weeks even

 

Depending on what your mmr was current season and how your placements went will match you up correctly

 

Yeah it all depends on the MMR of the games, for example, if you solo que 10 placements and go 5-5 and get gold V, if you duo que with a friend who is diamond and go 5-5 you could get gold 1, Just depends on MMR from previous season and games you play in to place

But yeah in my experience the best way to place the highest is to Duo with a higher league account

 

Oh okay gotcha. Yeah next season I'll do that it only took like 6 games to get to bronze I so it's really not that big of a deal extra practice I guess ha

 

I thought they fixed it eh, I got gold 3 from gold 5 with gold 4 MMR 6 - 4

 

The bold ^ affects you all of the time. To me, this is the downfall of the game. It would be nice to be paired with like ranks which actually makes more sense on the competitive level. But, I guess this is one of the "hooks" that the creators were going for to keep you coming back to the game to regain your rank.

 

I did terrible on placements. Got placed in Silver 1. Was able to grind it back to plat 1 in about 2 weeks.

Riot assumes you're good enough to get back to where you were so they place you low

 

Haha yeah I'm in my series to silver (if I win this game that's about to start) I just got 35 lp which was pretty funny. It's actualy a little fun climbing through bronze again reminds me of the old days. The lanes are just so easy. The only time I lose is when I roam to much because the other two lanes (or all 3 if I'm jungle) lost. I need to get better at roaming then I think I'll be gold in no time
