Clan merchers we are wrecking the economy?

hey guys whats up, this topic has come up alot on clan chats i have been on. i have been an active member in alot of merching clans. well any way after "the dump" the item doesn't often recover for along time or does at all. are we wrecked the rs economy? sure its great cash :love: but could this have long term problems?

 

Yes it is kinda ruining lots of things.... pkers have to work harder or longer now to afford items...

I got an obby mauler and I pk everytime I am online, it pisses me off to see supplies sky rocket......

 

Its all part of the game, the economy is mostly in the dumps because the wild is gone.

 

eventually the economy will stable, just like in real life. just give it time

yea alot of price have really went bye bye. dragon stones are and were so heavily clan merched there prices are all messed up

 

D-Stones are messed up because of RWT and merching; merching will only be a problem for players personally if they are interested in using that item or buying it. I've used merch clans and made about 30M+ and just sub out my items for less effective ones; but still generally work fine. (I'm talking about merching armor at least)
E.g.- Ahrims skirts use to be merched a lot and prices would sometimes go up 200K+ so I would sub it for mystic/infinity. Weather my outfit matched or not
Merching is screwing the economy though; it's starting to take too long for prices to regulate back.

 

I personally think it's OK if people use merchanting clans. It's a risk to take. I personally lost a couple of mills from being a part of these merchanting clans, so I'll stay out of them.

Merchanting clans are giving themselves too much credit.
Yes they have influnce. They are nothing compared to other external forces.
When the new PC came out, look what happend to yew logs, bow strings, and nature runes. These items still havn't recovered, because of the effect of a mini game on one skill. Merchanting clans will never have the power to 'wreck' the economy.

 

Agreed. - The only united thing I believe have the power to wreck the economy is the botters. You may remember when RSBot was out of date a week, the prices went mad.

how is this ruining the economy, if everything was just stable it would kill merching and so people who earn money that way would be screwed over
