Thinking of my first car! Opinions?

Hey! Well, I'm turning 15 in August, and I am looking for my first car! I am looking for a bit of a fixer-up'er, because I would really like to get into mechanics. I am going to be a freshman this year, and I am taking the intro to mechanics as one of my classes I REALLY like the older muscle cars, 1960-80'ish Camaro's, Chargers, and Firebirds. I have found 2 cars that I'm pretty interested in on CraigsList. I'll post the links if you would like to look at them. As of pricing, I'm looking for something under 6,000 dollars. If anyone has any suggestions, or even a car that you are wanting to sell, PLEASE let me know!

I would take neither. IT's your first car, you can't work on an old car. This is for people who have a clue what they're doing.

You can't take intro to mechanics and learn how to do an oil change and expect you to be a full on mechanic of a car like this.

Well I'm 23, almost 24 never wanted a muscle car. I want speed....So 2 years agot I got a Nissan Altima with every option but leather. Runs like a champ.

 

If I were you I'd take you're time and look for something worth the money, you've got a long time til you can drive still.

 

By the way I remember my first car when I was 16, a 0ld grand prix. Don't expect anything that's gonna be a gem. You gotta be happy you have something that gets you pt to pt.

Hah, thanks guys, I'm not totally clueless when it comes to mechanics, and that is what my uncle does. I'm going to be a Freshman, and that is the only class related to mechanics that I can take as a Freshman. My uncle would love it if he could teach me how to work on a car. I have always LOVED old muscle cars, and I'm not going to get some preppy rich ass spoiled brat car. I want something that I know I put my hard work into, and something I'm proud of. Like I said, I don't have the cash to buy something over 6,000 bucks. Thanks for the input though. Keep em coming.
