Bring staking back alive

I have seen this before in the "other services" section. Yet, it did not manage to stay popular after a while.

The idea is to bring staking back alive. Since the max we can stake is 60k - 240k now, staking is considered dead. Therefore, the idea i am proposing is to let sythe members stake real money in a duel.

Players will submit their application which will include :

- their combat level and willing to fight range
- their desired rules
- the money they desire to stake

Then , i will help to match players with one another. Before the fight, both players will have to send me their money they want to stake. I will be watching the fight and ensuring it is fairly fought. If any players attempt to cheat ( try to switch the rules ), they will be forfeited immediately.

I will take a cut of the stake as a payment for my services?
Questions

If there is such a service , will YOU use it?

How many % of the stake are you willing to pay?

Would you rather a fixed amount of fees instead of % of stake?

What other things are you wanting to see?

 

The basic idea of it is good, but I won't be using the service. Also, if you do create a service like this I'm sure you'll encounter many scammers who attempt to recover there funds.

 

Seems like a good idea on paper, but in practice could encounter a few problems.

Thats why you use an MM.

 

Can you name some possible problems i will face, and some solutions?

i really would love to start this, as i myself was an avid staker back then ;D

I would do this, but i wouldn't use you I'd just duel trusted players or use an MM.

 

i would do this. I also would only do 10$ per stake. If i would hear any kind of scammin from u i wouldnt use you.

 

Why wouldn't you wish to use me? I considered myself pretty trustworthy. Money is secondary to me. But it's fine

It'd be a good idea. You wouldn't be nearly as qualified to do it though. Your not very trusted. Would be a fun thing to do. It'd be risky on your part as well. Both could dispute the trade. Even if they won. You'd be stuck with the money. Be good for an OMM though. Could stake rares. They send them the money. Who ever wins. OMM gives them the desired items. I would keep this thread alive, and pitch it to a few people. I personally know many people who would do this. I've had ideas like this, just not the same one. Not staking is what I mean. If this does end up happening, we can imagine Sythe becoming bigger, and a brand new market.

 

Is r2 trusted or plznate trusted?

sometimes the most trusted people are only 'trusted' because the trade always goes well...

They are trusted because they have proof that they are. I'm not saying your not trusted, I'm just saying it'd be easier with more trusted people. I'd like to see this happen though. I have a few friends on msn that would do this so much. You shouldn't use real life money, unless it's a middle man fee, because it's risky on your part.

 

if i make players send payments via GIFT would that help to solve the scamming issues?

ok thanks for your opinion, do you think if i start doing free middleman for stakes at like $5 , then slowly rise to $10, etc. i can gain trust with potential customers?

 

Actually sending as gift doesn't matter. You can still recover. If you start doing it, others will do it as well. I would even start more than likely. It's a wonderful idea though. I hope this ends up happening. $5 for each stake could be a bit excessive. We can talk on msn if you want to discuss some ideas. I have some good ones for you that I'd rather not make public if this goes big.

 

I just have to say that this is a great idea and you should put alot of time in it to make it work 100%.
One idea you can think you is creating somekind of highscore so people from Sythe can see how people are doing

 

I was thinking the same thing. Like ranks and stuff! Haha. Sorry, but expect me to be doing this in the next month. For rares, in real life money, etc. Hope you don't mind!

Only 15 vouches or more can use this service? 50% of the hackers wouldn't be able to hack, what you think?

 

There shouldn't be a limit to who can use this service.

 

Have a few people to officially watch the duels? Also these people who do that get like 10% of the stake?
