And to think we live in a 'civilised' society..

Just looking for general feelings and opinions towards the current rioting throughout London. Being from London myself im just curious too see what the rest of the world looking in are thinking. For those who are unsure what im talking about search "Tottenham riots" or look at these pictures

I find it absolutely disgusting. I can understand the people who wanted to protest quietly and peacefully and I support their right to do that, but the behavior of the cretins who started violence is completely unacceptable. You only have to look at the pictures of shops being looted to see that most of the people there are complete wastes of space who will never be of any value to society.

I really hope that the Police catch the thugs behind it all and lock them up for a long time. Maybe it'll make them realise that whilst they might be the big tough guys where they come from, to the rest of the world they are useless pricks who most people wouldn't give a second glance to if they were seen lying by the side of the road on the verge of death.

 

There has been riots very close to where I live, and I do know a few people who have been involved in the riots. I think the riots are really embarrassing for London, and Britain as a whole, especially since we are hosting the Olympics next year. I don't want a situation like China 2008, where the whole world starts doubting the country's ability to host the games, as the Olympics are very important for the country.

Most of the people involved really have no idea of what the situation is, and are just being opportunistic thugs and criminals, by destroying property and looting them.
