More support to stay away from the barrows. It's really hard to predict, and I've said it in the past in both this thread and the GE Investing Guide. Try them at your own risk, but I advise staying away from them unless you can imagine a huge price jump. But usually they don't.

One thing however is that during things like the PvP update, helms rose very quickly. Especially for verac and dharok. The reason was that people were buying sets to pk in, and the piece most people lose if they don't lose it all is the helm. So helms skyrocketed during that time, and fell a week or two later. Anyways, try barrows and see what happens. You might end up liking it, but I tried barrows for about two weeks found minimal profit and moved on to sweeter items.

 

If guthan skirts are buyable right now at lowest (164k) and they rise to what there previous peaks have been (183k) thats a decent 19k profit each. Invest 5mill in that and its not to bad of an item to merch. But there are better items out there. Rune gauntlets look good, But im not sure when they will stop crashing and start climbing again. Also what is the status on D plate armor pieces? I saw someone saying that he was selling ruined dragon shard for lowest on ge last night on world 2. I dont have enough money in liquid form currently to test where ruined dragon pieces are at currently. My guess is there only selling for max still. Dragon plates are supposed to shoot up many more mill. Please post proof of people already dumping them, If you are going to claim that they are.

I didn't claim people dumping them. My post from early this morning tells that I felt suspicious on their status as I bought one instantly at max. Which a day or two ago was impossible even when I left offers up all day.

Also looking at the graph the climb looks like it's slowing down. already within the last update. The jump from dec 15-16 is steeper than the jump from 16-17th. I looks like it has about half the slope.

 

yes you are right, I'm going to look of RSOF forums and see what the atmosphere is like for dplates there atm. Thats usually a good gauge to see what items are doing off the g.e.

I just took a visit to the World 2 GE, I see a bunch of people buying santas for highest in the GE, and D-plates still going for 25M+.

It'll be a small rise, but fairly safe and should pocket you around 100K profit if you play it right.

 

We really need to encourage lower teir investors to go for the small gains. Even thought 100k in an investment that may take a few days seems small, because you could probably easily make 100k an hour with skills or more. The idea behind investing is that you don't have to work at all. You can continue to do the rest of your tasks and you're making money while you're walking from place to place. You're even making money when you're not logged on. You're making money while you sleep.

In the end as your base income grows, the money compounds. I started back when you first released your guide, combing it with other guides basically of the exact same topic, to make sure I understood everything completely. Since your guide has come out, I've gone from about 5M to 23M+. I have done a lot of set merchanting as well, but when a good item comes up I'll invest. I haven't been investing everyday, so I know I could have done a lot better. But it just goes to show that the more you work at it the more you make.

When I started I would make maybe 200k a night just from set merchanting. Now I make about 1M or more overnight from set merchanting. It just depends on how much of my wealth I have in cash, and how much is already invested. Also if I feel like visiting the GE.

However, now when I jump into other investments it's a lot easier to see the gains because I put more money in to start with.

Also thanks for checking on the D plates for me. I guess I got really lucky on getting a D plate from the GE then. I think it's because I put in my offer shortly after noticing an update.

Very good observation, and I'm definitely going to work to get some lower-level investments up there as soon as the d-plate/santa craze is over. Low level investments are often the safest and most reliable, even for rich investors.

Look at the graph, and you'll see why I'm expecting a rise. Now is the best time to buy, exactly because they're still selling 100gp under medium. Good investors have to stay a step ahead of the game.

 

I have to ask something.. I got santa for 19.4m yesterday, and its now not going for 20.2m. I see a lot ppl sell them at forums for less than mid. So should i keep the santa, and just wait or sell it asap?
