A disproof of the Bible's "contradictions"

I've noticed that people always say that the bible's full of contradictions. I've gone to church all my life and a private Christian school until the 8th grade. I've never noticed any contradictions and I've been through the bible atleast 3 times.

I want you guys to post the contradictions and simply put I will disprove them although their are stipulations.

    1. All contradictions must have a bible verse reference. For example if I believe the bible says kill this group of people in one part and not to in another, I would need 2 bible verses as reference. The first one saying the group should be killed and the second one contradicting the first.

    2. All proposed contradictions without bible verses as references will be ignored.

    3. Their are 2 parts to the bible, the new testament and the old testament. I believe the new testament to supersede the old testament when their is any discrepancy as the old testament was before the coming of Jesus and his death for all of mankind's sin which changed many things. I could go on forever about this but if you want to question this stipulation read this http://respondingtoskeptics.wordpress.com/2007/08/20/old-testament-god-vs-new-testament-god .

    4. Due to stipulation 3 comparisons for contradictions can only be made between old testament/old testament or new testament/new testament. As the new will always supersede the old.

    5. I have studied the New International Version (NIV), which is a direct translation of the bible in modern English and believe it to be the most easily understood interpretation of the bible. The other english translations of the bible were translated a long time ago using the english of the time. Therefore all reference verses used in the contradiction must be quoted from the NIV translation or else it will be ignored.

    6. No flaming or hateful messages, be intelligent and thorough or your post will be ignored and reported as spam.

    2 Samuel 23:8
"These be the names of the mighty men whom David had: The Tachmonite that sat in the seat, chief among the captains; the same was Adino the Eznite: he lift up his spear against eight hundred, whom he slew at one time."

    1 Chronicles 11:11
"And this is the number of the mighty men whom David had; Jashobeam, an Hachmonite, the chief of the captains: he lifted up his spear against three hundred slain by him at one time."

Very large lists exist which contain many of them.

I can't be bothered to look through the list so just list them 1 at a time lol. For these two verses I fail to see the contradiction, but I'll assume that the contradiction you wish to point out is different accounts of the same described person. I don't know where you got that translation from as stipulation 5 says I use the NIV. It is quite clear that each verse is describing a different person.

2 Samuel 23:8 (New International Version)
8 These are the names of David's mighty men:
Josheb-Basshebeth, [a] a Tahkemonite, was chief of the Three; he raised his spear against eight hundred men, whom he killed [c] in one encounter.

The man described here is named Josheb-Basshebeth. He is a Tahkemonite.

1 Chronicles 11:11 (New International Version)
11 this is the list of David's mighty men:
Jashobeam, [a] a Hacmonite, was chief of the officers ; he raised his spear against three hundred men, whom he killed in one encounter

The man described here is named Jashobeam. He is a Hacmonite.

You're trying to start a fight, do it somewhere else.
