    Geometry - Need Help!

Alright so I'm 9th grade. My grades have been average and last semester I had a 3.0 and a B as a semester grade in Geometry. Our semesters are broken up into marking periods. The second semester my Geometry grades started dropping until it became a C. I didn't take much notice of it. Then next marking period the shit went down hill, I forgot my calculator for the first test and got an E. The teacher let us take a make - up test and I got a B on that. Then the next test I got a D+ on and my marking period grade turned out to be D-. So I'm freaking out right now. This marking period we had these mini quizzes and I got an A on one and the rest I got D's and E's. We have a test on Monday so I'm studying like crazy. So my second semester grades in Geometry were C, D-, and at the moment it's an E since it's only the beginning and there aren't a lot of big grades in to fix up the score. So we got a test On Monday and about two more tests I'm guessing this marking period. We also have a final exam. If I try hard enough and get at least B's and C+'s, do you guys think I can fix the D to at least a C or a C+? The grade looks ugly as hell on my report card, and if I do any worse than a D I'll be fucked. I'll have to take summer school or re-take the class all over again and look like a dumbass. I'm going to Russia over the summer so I don't want anything like that to happen.

So my question is, will it be possible to fix my semester grade from a D to a C within a month?

The only thing you can do is start really putting in effort now, and get A's on everything to try and pull up your grade.
If you need any help with assignments or if you don't understand something, go post in the Homework Help forum. You can also MSN me, [email protected] with any questions. Would be happy to help :)

Keep trying. Geometry is useful, and you're going to see it again when you take Trigonometry.

My advice when studying math is to have patience, and learn to use the book. You're not always going to have someone to walk you through the work. Don't get frustrated give it some time and you'll find your answers. Also, when studying for a math test the only way to study is by doing problems. If your teacher gives you a review sheet keep going through the problems until you understand them. That's how I study. Even though I'm doing the same problems I'll go through the sheet about 4 times, and I'll do well on the test.

Yes I think it is possible but you might have to get an A on both, but you definetley will need a B on both at least. Do you know what percentage of your grade is dependent on tests? If so you should be able to calculate what you can get if you are able to pull off A's and B's on the remaining test. The only bad thing is that I know that math classes are usually like 80% dependent on tests. What I do when studying for any math test is go over each section that will be on it in the book, and do all the practice problems for that section. I do beleive you can do it, you just have to study and work hard!

That you very much for all of these tips guys. In our class we have these gay ass CPS quizzes where you enter your answer on the remote. There's usually 4 questions and if you get 1 wrong you're fucked. And yes, most of the grades in Geometry are tests, our teacher never collects homework or anything. So we probably got like 2 more tests and one quiz and the final exam that's worth 12% of our semester grade. So I can probably at least get my grade up to a D+ or a C- if I really tried. I'm starting to try right now and doing all of my homework, also reading stuff out of the book which I don't understand. I'm really scared of failing it because I won't be able to go to summer school since my parents already bought tickets to visit Russia over the summer, so if I don't go to summer school I'll have to retake the class again and feel like a dumbass.

Geometry was tough to pass, I'm not a math guy I do better with History etc.

We had a similar class I guess, mostly just tests and other shit you have to do well on. Homework will help a lot, have the teacher help you if you don't understand it.. the 100s from accurate homework will help you a lot. Is your class doing any end of the year projects? Those are a good opportunity to get the grade up.

Best of luck, you can do it
