Almost fell victim to a crafty lure

Just a heads up to all Sythe members on this one, I'd personally never heard of it before.

I was at the Slayer Tower in Canifis and some level 122 comes up to make saying can I show him the way out. Being the helpful person I am p ) I took him out of the tower and to the bank.

He starts explaining that it's been a long time since he last played etc and just wasn't sure on what to do. He said he was killing Abysall Demons and doesn't know how to get back there.

He gave me a DDS in Canifis bank for helping him, then I began to take him back.......

As soon as I go in to the room with Aberrant Spectre's in...... well, I get hit hard (124 consistently) and all my stats get drained (1 attack, 1 def, 1 agility, 1 str etc) since I don't have a nosepeg on!

I had completley forgotten about the fact that they lower stats like that, so make sure you don't forget too!!

Luckily I got out with about 120LP left and 2 swordfish... It was a close one though. Of course the guy was laughing at me when I'm about to die, but I guess I got the last laugh since I got his DDS


Anyone heard of this lure before? It really is pretty clever, I don't think many people would suspect it!

 

Damn, that's clever. But I'm mainly a pure so that doesn't happen to me.

 

This lure shouldn't work because people who are already at the slayer castel should know there way around and that spectrims are aggressive

 

True, but some people (like me ) can be a bit thick at times!

I don't have the slayer level for spectres though, so had no idea

I've just seen him try it again with someone else and this time said "I need food! Can you bring me some please?".... Of course this means the guy walks through again (on low HP) and BAM he's gone. Pretty smart really.

 

Plus, you would have a gravestone and you could probably get back if you used fairy rings/teleports.

 

Possibly yeah, but then as soon as you go in there again chances are you'll be attacked and the same will happen again.....

 

Not that bad of a lure though I doubt most people would fall for it, good thing you got out alive.

Lol that is very clever! I bet there are many lures just like that all around Runescape haha. But good thing you got out man!

 

Doesn't really workout since you're going to leave a gravestone and you'll probably get back in time.

 

Might work better/just as well with banshees or cockatrices, no?

 

Damn that's a lot of effort for a single lure lol. I've (stupidly) run through aberrant spectre's without a noseplug though, they usually don't hit that hard if you're a decently high level..

Why would a level 122, with 85+ Slayer, who has been killing abby demons for "a good few hours" need help getting out though? That's the bit I don't get

The fact he did it to someone else later (much lower level than me) and was successful makes me think it's definitley a lure.....

Note bad lure lol. Could work out for some people. I would have totally forgotten that dont do slayer too much xD
