ScionBot v1.0 Premier Release

Scion Bot was created by Jaco. The bot was originally based on his Cosmo Bot source which made a short lived experience in the Runescape botting scene, but was given up on quickly into the making.

Jaco than decided to start on the bot again in December of 2008 due to a desire to see a new free Runescape bot emerge for the scene. The idea was to create a simple, yet scriptable bot in the .Net language. Naturally, c# was the language Jaco chose.

Scion was unique in that its the only bot of its kind. Traditionally, bots are programmed in the java language. Because Sun Java naturally doesn't recognize keyboard and mousing functions sent to the window, a bot in a non-java language was seemingly impossible. That was until he developed the idea of using screen-captures instead of showing the applet by default. This allowed him to use an off screen hook to make the bot use less cpu and memory whenever it was inactive, or minimized than other bots.

What started out as a desire to give the bot a chance once again, soon turned into long hours, and many weekends of work. Jaco worked with other programmers like Nader to start implementing an updater into Scion which led to full reflection as well as helped with the implementation of tiles.

With the help of DarkXeD, the bot was able to detect and properly find tiles. Scion has went extremely far in the last month. It's now more stable and better running than anyone would have ever imagined. With the addition of reflection as well as tiles and a soon to be walking web the bot is turning out to be one of the best bots to date, especially with everything to offer and it being free and open source for everyone.

A: Yes. Scion can run multiple bots on the same process.

Q: Is Scion Bot free?
A: Yes, and open-source!

Q: Is creating scripts for Scion easy?
A: Scripting for Scion is much easier than a java bot. Your given the flexibility to make Scion work for you by choosing the language that best fits your needs and programming skill level. Scion supports ANY .net language. If you know vb.net, c#, or c++ than your ready to script Scion. But don't worry, these languages are by far some of the most widely used and easiest to learn. There is tons of material and resources to learn programming in these languages.

Q: Is Scion updated? Does the bot actually get updates, or do the java fields just get updated like RSBot?
A: Jaco is constantly making changes to Scion, adding and removing things. There is usually some immense changes with each version, so you can rest assured that the bot is updated as well as the java fields. Jaco and the Scion Bot development team work hard to make changes and updates as much as possible to keep the bot undetected. This also means using methods which aren't detected. Scion doesn't use BCEL or client hacking which can be detected.

Scion seen in the above video does 4 trips to the bank after mining in Varrock. The video was sped up to cut down viewing time. The bot is also very fast in real-time. Included with ScionBot is a copy of the powerMiner and powerBanker scripts by Jaco. They are both recommended for anyone who is interested in looking to test the bot or script for it (yes it is open source).

Seems like a pretty good bot but how does it stack up against rsbot. When it becomes more well known i might dl it.

 

It is much better than RSBOT, and it is much easier to make scripts. It is brand new, so spread the word if you download or like.

There is currently about 5 scripts, but many more are on the way. There are about 15 programmers working nonstop to make scripts and improve the bot.
There is a powerMiner, Auto Alcher, Auto teleporter, powerChoper, and a few others, but the nice thing about scion is, that you can make your own scripts with any .net language.

 

Sounds VERY nice! Something tells me, this will take over RSbot.

 

Hmm, I might try it out tomorrow, I'll post results, it does look better then RSBOT.

 

The bot currently displayed in that video is the latest and it has not been posted on ScionBot.com. Nader & I have a few more classes to finish off before we can release the final beta build.

1.0 is just around the corner after all the common bugs have been solved.

In 1.5, I would like to introduce motion detection and the inheritance of the AForge library. We can do some really neat object detection then.
