Never play yi bot lane, he is made for top/mid/jungle. Bot lane are for ADC+Support champs.

Carry on playing, and you'll get better, and in turn start enjoying the game more and more. Bot games aren't bad aswell, to get used to the mechanics and familiarise yourself with different champs and more.

Don't worry about being bad, the more you play, the better you'll get. I also recommend watching some PROstreams (http://www.twitch.tv/directory/game/League of Legends) as they are enjoyable, teach you quite a bit, and give you a good understanding of ranked.

Try not to focus on one champ. You don't want to limit yourself, and you will miss out on the fun of other champs as well.

^. I used to only play 5 toons for about a year with my account. I finally started branching out and not only has it helped me with a better understanding of gameplay mechanics and laning, but it is indeed fun!

I've been playing since season one and I still don't main a champion. In my opinion playing all the champions and trying different builds is the funnest thing.

Some of these kids are high. You're new, so only focus on learning one champion. Try all the free week champions, and then decide which one you like best. Then spam that champion to oblivion. Eventually, you'll get good at him or her.

You don't need to learn different champions for different roles yet, because in normal blinds, nobody will follow the meta. In normal drafts, the meta is followed, to some extent.

You need 16 champions including the free week champions to play normal drafts. Familiarize yourself with the meta before you get in. Also, learn at least one champion for every role. You can find out who can perform what role by googling around.

It's not possible to put all your mechanics, decision making, etc to the test in normal blinds or bot games, so normal drafts is the only way to practice for ranked.

As the other Sythe user's said you might want to focus on one champion and learn how to play him and the skills you'll need to carry on and you'll improve each time you spend longer using the same champion. However you'll also need to learn a few more champions just in case your champion is chosen before you've even tried to pick him so yeah these are useful tips goodluck :)
