Ehhh.

first thing like this ive attempted in a while. graphic design at college has turned me in to an illustrator whore so i've been neglecting photoshop. don't like how this turned out but whatevers.

 

Looks a little LQ - quite a chaotic flow because of the amount of lines to follow and everything, on the left side it's quite visibly the same stock/clipping mask.

Good though, you should post more of your illustrator designs

 

I'd love to post some of my illustrator work, but it's all on the iMacs at college

 

What sort of work is it? As in, pentool'ed abstract/logo & branding?

 

Not a big fan of the borders - it seems to cut off the flow leading to the top right, created by the fractal(s)/c4d that you used. Depth is great, as is the lighting - on the right shoulder though it appears there is some little design feature or motif that throws it off a tad. Beneath his chin is a little sketchy also...

First part of a logo project

 

Sounds quite fun, do you get taught the whole process from drafting, or is it more generalised for educational level?

 

We're pretty much just given a project brief and expected to get on with it. I usually just do tons of research, then move on to experimenting with materials and various elements etc. and eventually move on to creating a final product.

 

So the majority is rested on individual research into the process, and individual technique? It actually sounds pretty productive and fun, if you don't mind me saying (compared to having to do everything by a textbook procedure anyways).
