Ok well my school is running Novell and usually you can't open any applications except the ones that the Admin designates and the start menu doesn't contain Search or Run etc.

Anyway the computers in the lab I'm in have VB 2005, so I used the AppActivate function to open whatever I want. I can get CMD open and any other standard Windows prog. I can also download what I want and open it... I would do Net Send in CMD but the Messenger service is disabled on the computers.

So I ask ye Sythe, what can I do on these computers that holds an air of coolness? Something through CMD or something, that'd be cool. Maybe I'll give ye a nice reward.

Can't you just use a batch file to open up CMD?
    Code:
    Command.com
Try and watch other users via netusers, we used to be able to do that, before they disabled it.

You could delete some of the system files?

Can't open anything without the Admins designating it to be opened, so no .exe or .bat and stuff. TDD what folder should I be in to open that?

it'll be in system32, you shouldn't need to cd anywhere to access it, as long as the computers ARE NOT running winxpHOME winxpPRO works fine.

oh yes that makes oh-so-much sense, if that was the case you couldn't do ANYTHING with it, and i mean, anything at all, where are all the system files that run the thing kept? Oh that's right System32, they just stop you opening the folder with explorer, but with cmd there are ways around it...

I could probably throw a keylogger onto my teachers comp, but the thing is that the logger wouldn't start until the computer had booted and he'd logged in, so I wouldn't be able to get his login password as the prog wouldn't have been running at that point.

    Disabled .exe's, eh?

Open up a folder window and find your exe file.
Open up a blank Word document.
Drag the .exe file into the word document. This will embed it.
Double click the exe in the word document.

    Should work.

That's idiotic, each user on each computer has his own shell, I'd just be fucking up my own stuff...

Novell is pretty secure. I have tried to get around it for 3 years now. The only way to get around it is the most simple one.

Become a Teacher's Aide and they will usually let you use their computers. If your lucky then the teachers will have an admin account =0

    Have fun from there.

Also your computer apps/science teacher will probably have a admin acc. When she goes around grading you can mess with settings. My friend did that in another period but he got caught the second time he did it. He got expelled for having all the computers dispaly porn as their backgrounds when they restarted.

Also at my school they have an advanced networking class. They let students troubleshoot problems with the network. They get admin accounts but they probably have major monitoring programs on their accounts.

As a tip, it is impossible to restrict a .com file through normal methods using Windows, as .com files are generally critical system processes. The best way to open Command.com is to go through your system folder, obviously ;)

    Edit:
@Atomic, you can still retrieve login passwords through keyloggers even if the password is typed in before Windows initializes explorer.exe, because Novell is executed at the final stage of runtime, you can set the keylogger to also execute at the time of Novell. Win.
