[Eclipse / Java] Extend an Android Application

Hey guys,

I've been given an assignment for one of my courses and I'm really struggling. This aspect of the course wasn't in the course outline when I picked it, and I have absolutely 0 previous knowledge.

Basically, this assignment asks us to extend a current android application (WheresMyPhone - all source has been provided).

What the app currently does:

- allows a master password to be saved (used when sending the code word + password to receive a text response).
- uses a GPS manager object to find current location
- listen for SMS texts and identify that it is a query text
- send a SMS response text

What I need to do:

- extend the application in any way (by implementing the code through eclipse).

I've tried looking on websites like stackoverflow but I literally have no idea how to implement code.

Is anyone able to give me some advice here, or via Skype? I'll be forever in your debt.
