    [Easy]x-y intercepts[EASY]

    Hey guys

    How would I find the x and y intercepts for this:

    -5x + 2y = 10

    It SHOULD end up like
    y = (number)x +/- (number)

    Add 5 to both sides so itll be -

    2y = 5x + 10

    Divide by 2 so itll be

    y = 5/2x + 5

    Y = mx+b
    So you have to change it to that form by adding 5x to both sides (Multiplication prop. of equality I believe).

    2y = 5x + 10
    Then divide both sides by two to get rid of the two on the left side (So you are left with only Y)

    Y = 5/2x + 5

    Y-intercept: 5
    X-intercept: -2

    EDIT: From the equation in slope-intercept form above, the y-intercept is just the "b" part of the mx+b equation. To find the x-intercept, set y equal to 0 and solve for x.

    These values can be found w/o getting the equation into the mx+b form
