I got scammed

Hey a few minutes ago i sold an account to this guy "Lark" (sythe's username)

I went first because he had some vouches so i decided to go for it.

When i gave him all he started to laugh and called a friend of his and both started talking.

Is there a way i can recover through ip?

 

gotta email jagex man,theres a couple threads about recovering an account. Just look around

 

you cant just make accusations without proof besides this isnt the right section,

to recover an account you need need to message on forums about the account in question and request the account is locked and that they do an original owners ip check, works really well nowadays. BUT you need to provide proof he didnt pay for said account or he could just say he paid and you could possibly risk a ban for recovering an account you "sold"...

 

Report him in the report a scammer section.

 

No, the account is gone. Even if he gave you the email, he can request an IP match. Only thing to do now is report him on here.

 

What? He's saying he sold the account to go the guy and the guy didn't pay up.

So yes you can recover it, send [email protected] a email with all the nessicary info like your username, recoveries, etc, do not include passwords though.

 

I'm aware, IP is logged by the first person to log-in, if its just a name chances are he didn't log in.

 

Umm maybe you misread this guys thread or something?
If he was the original creator of the account, he can recover it.
The last logged in ip doesn't matter.

 

Checking through the threads that he has made, none are just for names. (Only a main and an account with 99 fishing, etc). I THINK he should be able to recover it, but to be honest with Jagex's new recovery system, i could never tell you how. sorry man. :/ Best of luck to you, and i'm sorry to hear that you got scammed!

 

The new recovery system it's pretty useless for me, i read on jagex's recovery page that i can actually do it without email, i followed the link they gave me and i ended up in the same useless page.

so i don't know how, cuz i haven't been able to find it again, i got the email where i can contact them and get help from them, but as they say it would take up to 2 WEEKS to recieve the help, so i hope i can get assisted.

I sent them all the info i had, including ips and old passes, i hope this works out well.

You can also make a new account, activate the 14 day trial and make a thread on forums stating your account got hijacked, give them the username and tell them to check your ip.

 

It'll all end up fine man As long as there weren't any stats you were hoping to keep low (such as defense), and nothing monetary on there worth a lot or hard to get like chaotics, there really isn't much they can do with your account to mess it up. So if those are true, be happy. Just post in the i've been Hijacked thread and get it locked for now, and try and do a manual recovery if those are still possible!

Also, follow Lilly's advice above. That should get your account locked instantly which is the fastest route, and if the IP's match, you should easily get the account back.

 

To make this story short.

I recovered the account thank GOD! DDDDDDDDDDDDD

 

Was about to tell you to recover it through emailing jagex, but it seems you already got it back, great news

Be sure to report him as a scammer, so he doesn't scam anyone else.

 

next time, use a MM. even people with a few vouches you can't trust.
i don't think there is a way to get your account back

 

Email jagex and tell them to check the ips
