Spam, ignorance, and rock and roll?

Im honestly tired of seeing posts like

In topics about the genre. Not only is it irrelevant to the topic but it is also spam.. If you don't like rap why are you posting in a thread ABOUT rap. Especially when you do not know the first thing about it..

Rap has gained a bad reputation in the music industry for being crewed, with meaningless lyrics that demean women and support sport cars. This however is not true. The word "Rap" is actually an abbreviation, Rhythmic authentic poetry. Some of you say rap is not music, your correct...it is not its poetry over a rhythmic beat. Your next argument will be

and i wouldn't argue with you on that, however the "noise" you hear on the radio is not rap...its pop. Rap/hiphop died years ago. There are still tiny glimpses through out the large population of artist that remain true to the original code of hiphop. But most of the time its commercialized pop music with some gimmick or dance used to sell more records..See what artist are suppose to do is blend a mixture of metaphors and punchlines with a story or poem over a rhythm of some sort. You should be more understanding towards the situation, because the same thing has happened to rock. The original artist, and the old rockstars were so amazing...and has such creativity, but know rock is swamped with emo bands and remedial high voices... Before you can understand the situation, you must learn about it...

Rap: Like i explained earlier "Rhythmic authentic poetry" it is the music or "poetry" which you listen to. It was huge in African American culture.. A way of free expression youths use to stand on street corners..freestyling about their life and what they felt. it was beauty at its most purest form.

Hiphop- Is a lifestyle, in which the rap community live basically like inspiration for the poetry, a group playing basketball on a old court. kids playing in the rain. what you live, you write. what you feel, what you wear...That is hiphop.​

I could write a four page essay about how rock is nothing but guitar with no meaning behind their lyrics at all but I wont stoop to you level.

This is to fans of all genres especially the people who keep posting ignorant comments about hiphop...stop..don't spam..and make your own damn thread..Thank you

I don't like rap (And I agree with those comments about it ), but it is pathetic how people act on the internet. Sure, I think rap is stupid, but that doesn't mean I can go yelling at people for listening to it. People need to learn that saying them comments won't do anything besides make themselves look like morons.

 

Word, and I think rock is, but we don't have to spam threads about eachothers music .

Thats why i made this thread.

Couldn't help but correct your one error there.
The thing is, majority of these threads about "rap" are mistaken for "pop", so most people making threads about pop thinking they're talking about rap deserve such criticism. I myself liked rap until I was about 12 or 13. I started off after listening to alternate rock, mostly mainstream stuff, then I got into metal, and even genres like punk, and what you mistakenly categorize as "emo" music.
Saying rock is swamped with emo music is tantamount to your opinion on people referring to rap as pop. Rock is not overtaken by "emo" bands. Rap is similar to rock, as they both show emotion in their music, but that doesn't make rock bands the sissy wrist-slitting talentless musicians you blindly label them as.

Maybe you should look at both sides of the problem before you go talking about rock that way.

 

First of all i know everyone originally came from Africa, but using proper terms for a race makes you come off as someone who knows what their talking about, unlike you. See i could argue the fact that though your ancestors came from Africa, that was thousands of years ago..more...We came here what? 400 years ago...so we can at least trace that back somewhat..

This thread is not about a debate..its about how lowlifes like you feel obligated to post unnecessary comments about what genre your a fan of, In threads that are about what your favorite musician is, or who's you're favorite hiphop artist..

I posted my knowledge of rock paralleled to your knowledge of rap. You go criticizing rock like that, and you weren't expecting anyone to contradict you?
Oh, you must be this forums foremost experienced music critic, people better not try to argue with you, because you know EVERYTHING about music, right?

I did read your whole post, I understand this forums problems, I understand the concept of rap, but foremost I understand that you lack a lot knowledge of rock, and shouldn't be criticizing it.

Which brings me to my next point;

I never claimed to be "The most experienced music critic" And i never criticized rock, I simply stated that the situation of rap and rock are identical. There are too many artist who don't meet the standards of our genres.

And the fact that you were off topic in a thread about that very problem still remains..

And, I'm pretty sure I wouldn't want to smoke what ever your spewed from that backwards mind of yours. I'd rather keep my brain cells.

 

Well it looks like your use of the term "ignorance" was a little off too.
My one statement you mentioned was a rhetorical statement, go try and define that then for me too. All those artists who don't meet the standards of a genre often fall into what is a common term called a sub-genre.
Anyways, it's not like those brain cells of yours will come in handy any time soon, so don't worry about it.

This thread is about flaming other peoples genre choice, especially rap because it receives the most ridicule. And how its SPAM when you Post in TOPICS with comments that have nothing to do with the main point of the thread.

Well hey, great response to my post, you're building the "spam" yourself, hypocrite.
You ridiculed rock, so therefore I posted my own opinion on it, it was topic-related, and you're just labelling it as spam because you know nothing about it.
My posts are all topic-related, you just focus on parts of my posts that aren't necessarily related to the topic.
I'm not giving you any reason to making this thread, I never said rap was bad, I never argued against it, so read my whole post and don't barge into this thread with your head up your ass.

I have to say, that maybe you are presenting a point Fro, but it's not really a legitimate reason, who are you to make stereotypes of the entire black race? Either way, people can have an opinion, and i agree, people can take things too far, but really nobody needs to hear your preaching your nonsense about rap dying years ago. What is your idea of 'the code of Hip-hop' anyways? It seems like you are making statements in which you have no knowledge of and are just looking to make a witty remark on.
And another thing, things are changing I agree, and there are little bands out there just for the music, and yes it is sad, but it will be like that. Tough luck I will say. Don't pick apart music Fro, not all bands out there are emo and sing with high voices, only the bands that every damn person seems to like, nobody has any real taste anymore for bands that go out there to do what they'd like, and they just fucking can't sell records cause of the idiots who think what they are listening to is music.

 

I agree with you, even though I don't like rap at all since, sorry to say, but you need much more talent to play guitar than to do rhymes everybody can do.

And I appreciate more talent + nice lyrics....than nice lyrics only.

 

I guess, some rap is lyrical poetry, either way I'm not that interested in it, because I myself play guitar and I find it hard to like every genre. I do listen to some old rap from time to time though. Maybe I was acting harsh because I guess I can relate to the whole Hip-hop is dead idea. Nobody goes into the music business out of passion anymore; and that is true in the rap/hip-hop genre more than anywhere else.
