My friends elophant (skins)

So, I know I make quite a few threads, but this one is deserving. I helped him start his skin addiction back in the day, and joked that you can't lose with skins.
Since that day, we mystery gift traded a few times and I feel ashamed that I've spent over $150 on LoL, but most of my main champs have a skin unlocked, or even ones that i'll play just for fun. And while it doesn't technically make you any better, I do fine in lower Plat.


Him on the other hand, is a different story. He paid to be boosted to silver and wins/loses about an equal amount, slowly gaining in lower silver.

If you like a game why not spend money on it? Doesn't mean you have to be good.

 

Yeah spending $150 is nothing dude, you can actually send a support ticket into Riot, and they send you one back telling you right to the penny how much you've spent on your account..

 

$150 isn't much. I've definitely spent more than that over the years I've played.

Lots of skins I also have a friend who told me that he collect skins like collecting trading cards. Everyone has their own things. Me on the other hand... I only have 1 skin lol

 

I think we have it messed up. I have spend $150, he has spent around $1400, not including Pax Jax, Pax TF, Silver Kayle, ETC.

The point is, that's absolutely retarded, to have every purchasable skin in the game. It's completely cosmetic and you can only use one at a time.

I've spent like $5K on LoL prob. That's over 4-5 accounts however, over 4 years nearly. What's wrong spending money on things you like if you're able to?

 

+1 i spend alot on WoW lol. I have almost every mount ingame. idk just a thing i like.

 

Actually not $5k, prob $3k or so. However all I've spent on it is profit from when I merched RSGP.

 

Actually I do the same... sythe is a huge problem for me.

People will ask me how much I've made on Sythe. Well, a few grand over time, but I just turn around and trade it for other virtual goods in whatever I'm doing at the time, or try another merch somewhere else. Nothing to show but steam libraries and achievements lol.

And there's nothing wrong with it, I just said discuss. But isn't spending thousands on something you're not even good at a little strange?

 

I don't see the problem, just because you like something it doesn't mean you have to be good at it. If your friend wants to spend $1400 on cosmetic skins then I don't see why you should have a problem with it, it's their money not yours.

The man likes his skins, I suppose. Personally, I'd never spend that much, but to each his own.

I do like a lot of LoL's skins, though. I have maybe 70-80 myself, but I only really buy them with the RP I get from tournaments.

 

You don't need to be good at something to enjoy it/for it to be a hobby/spend your money on it.

Take art collecting as an example. You do it for your own pleasure, there is no state of being good at it.

It's his hobby, he enjoys it. Nothing more to it really lol.
