Dungeoneering in OSRS

I guess its official, RS is going to release a new skill like dungeoneering according to the poll. What are your guys' thoughts on this?

 

I think a new skill could be really good for the game. However, I think the OSRS team is severely understaffed considering the amount of revenue it generates for JaGeX compared to the "main game." I think a lot of attention should be focused on marketing. Many people used to play RS quit a long time ago and don't realize an old version of the game exists.

 

This is so fucked - can you imagine somebody telling you that they'd eventually release dungeoneering on OSRS back when it was first released in 2013?

Dungeoneering was huge on RS2 and it took a lot of time to develop.

I don't know, we'll see how it turns out, though I don't even play actively anymore

I don't think it's necessarily official. It won a priority poll against other skills, some of which have already lost 75 percent polls.

I don't think Dungeoneering would ever pass a real content poll (75 percent vote). Not enough people like it. Not 3/4ths of the community at least.

I think it's going to take a pretty amazing pitch for a new skill to be put in. 75 percent is inherently a difficult threshold to hit voting-wise, so it's going to have to be something very creative.

Here's what the description was for that poll:

"We want to see what content the Old School community is most interested in. This priority poll will help us determine where the priorities of the community are.

Once we have a good idea of what updates are important to you, we can begin offering specific pieces of content to satisfy this in future dev blogs."

Nothing that "won" that poll is getting put in without an actual 75 percent to pass poll.

 

Dungeneering is by far the most fun skill and rewarding in my opinion, I think it will get hate but will be looked as a good thing, majority like it so I think the only proble m with it are going to be staking and prices of whips and use of tentacle

I'd really like dungeoneering. I'm not necessarily saying all of the same rewards but the skill itself was a nice one.

It's a lot of dev time though.

I loved the Chaotic Longs and Rapiers in pre eoc. I been playing since Classic, so you can try shit talkin all you want. Chaotics were the shit along with the prayers!

 

I miss soul split and turmoil over dung personally. But im biased as I had a maxed 30 def turmoil pure pre eoc

 

Yeah I was actually a zerker with 99 atk str pray with my chaotics in pre eoc. GOOD TIMES! LOL

Evolution of Combat is coming to OSRS!

 

I really hope dung comes back to 07, I loved it.

 

They said a skill 'like' dungeoneering? why does everyone think its dungeoneering thats coming?

 

Especially since Raids is essentially offering what Pre-Eoc dungeoneering offered. Both content-wise and rewards-wise.

Don't ever think we'll see DG as a skill, just elements of DG spattered throughout new content. Which is great in my opinion. I love when Old School combines past successful elements into new content. I don't want to experience the same thing all over again.

A great example of content like this would be the new bosses like Abyssal Sire. While not particularly profitable, it's fun learning their mechanics and fighting them. I hope Raids is pretty worthwhile. My nearly maxed combat account has been rotting post 99 Slayer :/

 

Probably won't be close to Dung with the unique floors etc, but i'm curious to what rewards will be introduced. Don't think they would bring back the original chaotics though :'(

 

seems interesting... hopefully they do a good job with it haha..
