    Duel Arena-End of Runescape

RS Forums quick find code: 27-28-129-54082786

This is a copy of my post on theforums: Read and Reply.

This is legitly thought, and is **** sure realistic (most likely true).

My theory is that JaGex want to move on from Runescape and start up a new game...which they are suceeding at atm. *****, but really only a small fraction of the current runescape players will hop games and start all over again obtaining all of the "equivilant" worth of items in this new game, if they decide they want an economy. If I'm wrong, I don't care...this is the start of the end unless they add another Duel Arena-like thing with unlimited staking in it (or very high).

As far as them claiming that cheaters ruined it, mess off. Honestly, how many people apart from Jagex can say they are bothered by knowing people are buying goods. How does it effect us? It doesn't, it doesn't effect the economy much either. There are 1000 or less real world traders that carry enough/trade enough "goods" to have any effect on anything. Besides, what stops them from using other ways such as "pking" and drop-trading there goods? Nothing? All you had to do was add some sort of AI that decided whether a stake was reasonably "even" or "realistic", and assuming that most people buying enough goods to worry about (ie:25/50m+) don't currently have that much net worth in items/gp, it seems like it would be fairly easy. I can't picture very many people buying gp if they already have alot, just doesn't make sence. And I also can't see someone legitly staking someone 25m+ for less than 1m.

I myself have had this file for about a year, training on and off due to Hockey, Football, and Soccer, and have ALWAYS wanted to be able to stake such high amounts as the big time stakers and get all of the wealth and the ever-so-wanted Phat or Cracker...now impossible.

By ruining LOADS of accounts, membership rates will slowly sink and the economy will crash to a point where everyone will be on an even level of wealth (or close), or items will be so cheap that it wont matter if somone has a Bil.

*WOULD BE LONGER IF RS FORUMS DID NOT HAVE CHARACTER LIMIT*

jagex has gone to far on this 1, I personally haven't been effected but many people I know have. You can make some decent money in a tournament but you have to win many duels and no guarantee you will make your cash back.

Done now. I think theyll either do nothing, change it back (pfft), or theyll set another gay cap with requirements or some other lame limit.
