Pornography - Has panned out to become a very controversial topic among all types of people in the world today.

Is pornography ruining our society? Has it already ruined society? How have the cultural/moral standards changed? Is pornography a good or bad thing? What effect has it had on youth in these days?

I want to know your views on Pornography.

 

I honestly don't really see what's so bad about Pornography, No... It hasn't ruined our society, sexual intercourse is natural, however the human population has taken it abit too far in my opinion, some pornography videos are disgusting and the things they do are extremly disturbing.
However, I don't mind just pictures, Playboy is great.

 

Honestly i think pornography is a good thing, i like sex, women so yeah, id say it didn't ruin our society, and i love pornography.

To me it seems the whole controversy regarding pornography steamed off in the early '70s. The subject is probably one of the least discussed in the big black book of controversial topics. And it's really not as profitable as you may think; recording, editing, paying actors and/or actresses, camera crew, sound crew -- it can easily add up to $30-50k. And with the rapidly growing business (primarily on the Internet), the competition is harder than in any other business.

No, pornography has not ruined our society and I don't see it happening in the near future. Cultural/moral standards havn't changed much, and the insignificantly small fraction that has, hasn't changed due to pornography but rather by their own socially frowned-upon perversities.

 

It gives kids something to do when they're bored, people make money for having sex, so what's so bad about it?

 

Well, it has become a highly profitable markey but at what cost? Many people get addicted to pornography and ruins their lives literally. Its natural, but to a certain extent.

 

I think if they're addicted to pornography they must have had no lives before that.

I don't believe that pornography itself is the reason for demoralizing people and decreasing social standards. I think it's the ease of access and availability of pornography that has influenced society in a negative way. You ask how? Look around you: television, shirts, lyrics, behavior. Just use your brain, and you'll understand how.

 

It's not immoral at all. To participate in Pornography is a choice. They can earn money from it or it's for pleasure. But yes, if prostitution is illegal in the U.S, why isn't pornography. Good point to the creator of the thread.

While that's certainly up for debate I want to point out that one person making a porn pop-up that a kid might see surely doesn't make all porn immoral.

I mean that the pop-up creators actions might be considered immoral (if you view showing porn to kids as immoral) but that it doesn't necessarily make the subject matter immoral.
