Is Iran developing a nuclear weapon to defend it's oil?

I mean it makes all the sense in the world. The US went to war with Iraq for its oil and when it uses up all it's oil. The next target could be Iran... Iran has the 3rd largest oil reserves in the world behind Saudi Arabia and Canada. Iraq has the 4th larger oil reserves.

Look at this pattern with the top 6th largest oil reserves by countries.
1.) Saudi Arabia (Close allies)
2.) Canada. (Partners and friends)
3.) Iran. (Tensions have been rising)
4.) Iraq. (War)
5.) Kuwait. (Persian Gulf War, now allies)
6.) Venezuela. (Tensions are rising)

If Iran gets a nuke with the capability of striking Israel or maybe even New York City, wouldn't that stop America from starting a war with Iran. I mean the current reason, many people are saying why Iran is developing a nuke is to wipe out Israel, how would that benefit Iran in any way? Wouldn't that be bad for Iran because Israel has nukes that could obliterate Tehran (Iran's capital)

I don't hear this possiblity from the mainstream media or anywhere for that matter. I actually just thought of it by own. I'm not saying no one has brought it up. This actually sounds like it makes a lot of sense.

 

Of course they are. Don't be surprised if Israel and the US declare war on them in the future to stop it. Israel is not going to let them get a nuclear missile.

 

I would worry about North Korea and nuclear weapons.. not Iran.

 

Let us just say that if American oil reserves deplete all of those on that list who aren't willing to give it up will become enemies. The USA is a big bully and if you don't give up your lunch money they're going to take it, friends or not.

 

To clarify your original post, we defended Kuwait in the Persian Gulf War; we didn't attack them at all. They are our very close allies (speaking on behalf of the US).

 

U.S. / CIA in 1953 tried to over throw Iran's Prime minister, resulting in their hatred for the U.S. And for Israel? They bomb Iran all the time, they assassinated the Iran nuclear scientists last month. I'd be pissed off too.

Iran is not a direct threat to the US as long as it is in the United Nations. The whole iraq-iran war was about Iran joining the United Nations, if you do not believe me do the research. Iran posed an end to the war on July 20, 1988. However Iraq was unwilling to accept this cease fire. Then in august, Iran joined the UN and the war was over. For this reason, we have no reason to fear Iran. We are merely over there now trying to ensure we can establish a strong pro-UN government.

Tension's were rising with Iraq for a hugeee multitude of reasons. The least being their 'large' oil reserves. Iran is a totalitarian government which mean's it's people have really NO say in how ANYTHING WORKS. The idea of this group of religious FREAKS possessing thermonuclear arm's is quite frightening.

 

They probably are trying, but they will most likely not succeed, it would be very hard to get the resources etc without anyone finding out.

israel and the us both have nuclear weapons why are they allowed to have nuclear weapons but other countries aren't allowed ?

 

World would be better with some peace in it.

The reason why they wouldn't be allowed to, is because they might end up starting a huge war, and as US and Israel allready has Nuclear bombs, Iran would be in troubles if it got known to the CIA or Israel.
