Driver's license number

So before this guy will buy my account he wants a picture of my ID on a piece of paper with my sythe and paypal e-mail written down on it as well as a statement that I will refund him the money if I recover the account.. he claims I am NOT allowed to blot out my DL number.

Now I have not given him anything yet but in his very first message he said he would do the transaction with a middleman, then in the middle of the conversation said that using a middleman is useless because he won't be able to get his money back. Sounds sketch and I will most likely not do business with this fellow, however here in lies the issue..

It seems to me that he is trying to go around getting people's DL information, should this be reported? and is it a legit thing to send all of that info including the DL number with a sell/purchase? If it's not allowed let me know so I can report him, if it is at your own risk kind of thing then I won't do business I just need some advice.

 

When you are doing sales as a personal seller, sometimes they need a copy of the ID so they can have the information provided in-case you chargeback. This information would verify that it was you who purchased the goods and have the matching information to provide to say, Paypal.

Blocking any portion of that out would void the ID and render it useless for them. This is why he doesn't want you to block anything out.
