What exactly is (phising?)

ok so I was watching videos someone posted up of someone phising accounts?

NOTE!: I dont want to learn how to do this just wondering how people hack accounts

Doesn't the person that gets hacked have to download a program of some sort or give his information to someone? or can someone just find your information somehow and take it?

Thought it was kind of disturbing that someone can just get on your account a drop your stuff like that.

A common thing is to impersonate jagex staff and send the person a message saying "we have chosen you to be a player mod, please fill out the form on this site: phishing.rs.tz" or something and then some kid goes to that site and puts in their info. Cleverer phishers can get the IP that the kid used to access the site and DDOS them to force them to log off the account.

There's also just the traditional keylogging. As long as you have good virus software and you don't do stupid stuff like put in your info on another site, you'll be ok

Also, it's called "phishing" not "phising". Think "fishing" like fishing for account information
